RM had a lot of "set plays" they would run with Marcelo/Isco or Carvajal overlapping and cutting back or playing it far post if they were under no pressure at the corner of the box. We've gotten to incorporating that much more since Neymar has left with Messi-Alba and cutbacks instead of any far post crosses.
Effective, repeatable attacking plays are the best recipe for sustained offense. Alba-Messi may not be Alves-Messi but goddamn is it effective.
