couldn't care less... Credit gotta be given where it's due. La Masia didn't play the major part in their development. In fact Alba never even played a defender until he went to Valencia ffs

If you're going by that logic, then Busquets, PEdro and Puyol aren't our home grown players

yes. but it would be really hypocritical of us if we called the likes of Cesc & Alba as our home grown players, when in reality it's Arsenal and Valencia that have played the major part in their development, as well as the likes of Pedro & Busquets while crying foul on clubs for "poaching" our kids.

In that case Scholes is not a youth product of Man U (only in the youth setup for 2 years, joined when he was 17), Walcott is not a Southampton product (joined when he was 11, left to Arsenal when he was 17) etc

Well, Cesc was already a Spanish international when he moved, and he made his first team debut within a year... Alba, we let go, but he still learned the basics in the club. His technique, his passing etc were honed here. He joined Valencia when he was 17/18.
