Jorge Sampaoli

Last season Sevilla couldn't win a single away game in La Liga. Now we're talking about them not being in the last 8 in CL like it's a failure. It's not. It's a success. They'll probably end up on CL spots in La Liga. 3rd or 4th. Also a massive improvement from last season.

Double standards, to some extent.

Sevilla improved in La liga.
But then, Sevilla was trashing Uefa league opponents for years.
And current Leicester is nothing than an Uefa league team.

So, Sampaoli improved Sevilla in La liga till now (let's wait how a season will end) but made their team look way weaker and mentally way more fragile than ever in European cups.
Emery's Sevilla from golden years wouldn't lose against a team like Leicester in Europe.

Read further, you seemed to have jumped over some information too. I'd give you the benefit of doubt, but not the first time you've tried to enter something by constructing your own evidence. If not, then you can always jump back to posting useless comparisons in the Neymar thread.

As a sevilla fan what are your opinions on sampaoli?

I did a post on Sevilla thread about that. He has achieved nothing special and if we do not end up finishing 3rd, he should be sacked and Lillo appointed. After all, Lillo is the mastermind behind everything while Sampaoli acts like a dictator, yet his team lacks elementary discipline. 4 of our last penalties were missed consecutively and we do not have a clear penalty taker, moreover, not a clear set piece taker either.

So far this season, these are the players that have taken penalties:

Ben Yedder, Sarabia, Vietto, Iborra, Jovetic, Nasri, Correa, N'Zonzi... and out of all, only Ben Yedder and Sarabia never missed, while Iborra scored one and missed one.

The dictator won the Copa America with Chile and was a crossbar away from eliminating Brazil in the World Cup, which would have been deserved too.

The mastermind Lillo was relaxing on the beach during those years.

You miss an important aspect. Europa League is under Champions League, and when a team goes in the CL knock-out phases it is a superior result, than if that team goes out in the Group Stages.

Your players let your club and Sampaoli down. A coach can't score those penalties or other clear chances by himself.
What was the last time you were in third place in March and basically should be waiting for Quarters draw now if not for huge fuck ups?

Players definitely are to blame, a lot of them, but it is the coach who instills discipline so that the players will have lower margins to fuck up like that. Can you imagine a team where within a season there are 8 different penalty takers? Serious teams do not do that, and that is Sampaoli's duty not the players.

Also, about the 3rd in March... screw that. First, it is not certain that we will end up third, I see us still fighting for the 4th by the end, and most importantly, Sampaoli came here and he had everything he wanted. This is the season where Sevilla spent the most in the history of the club, and we got players like Jovetic and Nasri, while retaining Vitolo, Escudero, Mariano, Rami etc. so it is because of the players not Sampaoli.

We have been grinding out wins ever since and won many matches purely on luck. Whenever it was required to step it up or leave the soul in the pitch to win a game, we failed. The only time we did that was vs. RM, and even that was lucky to be won with that Jovetic strike in the dying moments of FT.

Objectively speaking, Sampaoli is the manager with the best results in the history of Chile NT, came in Sevilla, and improved them in his first season, both in Europe and in La Liga, comparing with the last season under Emery.

Lyon is an Europa League team at best, while Dinamo Zagreb.... is a team for a Balkan league not even Intertoto cup at the moment.

Emery was unlucky to be in the third pot last season as he would definitely pass the group. Even this season if we would draw both City and Juve in the group stages, we'd end up 3rd again. You need to put things into perspective and not think subjectively.

You are just too emotional as you had too high expectations created by Sampaolis start in the job.

Less than a month ago even you were waxing lyrical with praise for him.

He has done a good job at Sevilla so far bar these two legs where even then was the better team over two legs but made mistakes.

Totally wrong. There is no improvement on anything. The team is simply better than last season's. Sevilla invested a lot this season and only Iborra won us 9 points at least all by himself, so we were grinding out wins almost all the time. Nothing improved, except we totally lost the counter-attacking skills when needed and lost the discipline that was instilled from Emery.

2014-15 season remains the best ever in Sevilla's history both in results and squad depth, along with discipline and tactics.

Emery managed to achieve the unique feat of not winning a single La Liga game away from home in a whole season. Don't let this night affect your reasoning.

For the first time since ages people spoke about Sevilla as a title contender. That never happened under Emery. Emery was great in Europa League, but Champions League is much different, teams take it more seriously.

Ok then, Barca can have him in the summer. You watch Sevilla on Flashscore, I watch them on literally every game and know all the ins and outs, so you consider Sampaoli to have done a great job, so be it.

I have read Wikipedia's article one more.
Please, enlighten me, which part of his career should be considered as awesome?

About a part about Neymar, remember the golden rule of arguing on internet:
1. once a person starts with personal insults
2. or pointing to other person's mistakes/opinion unrelated with a current topic
= you can assume that a person no1 is lacking any stronger arguments in the current debate.

So, I'll assume that you also know deep down inside that we are right about Samp's cons in this moment.

Not at all. I have had doubts in Sampaoli for a long time, and if you look at the Sevilla international blog, a lot of us there were doubting Sampaoli's decisions for long now.

What about Emery's point record in 2014-15? If Sampaoli breaks that, only then we can talk again.

You watch them every game but your opinion has only changed in less than last month..
