Meade (lawyer): "We'll see if FIFA is serious about youth issue and punishes others too. If not, you could think they were after Barça."

The lawyer is right, other clubs do the same thing and do not get punished. FIFA are making an example of Barca.

Yes but this never stands up in court.

It is only admitting guilt but asking to be excised because there are other guilty parties too.

Of course it's true but that wouldn't get you off for any infringement, in fact, it is exactly what ur lawyer should not be saying.

I dont think they are looking to use it as an excuse to get off but making it clear they are not the only ones doing it and if Barca get punished so should others.

Fair thing to say if it true.

And why it was juvenile, especially from an attorney...Barcelona looked woefully inept with that commentary but absolutely indicative of this board...Shocking how these clowns could have been entrusted with this club, simply out of their depth

A comment from the solicitor saying the club should be treated the same as everyone else is spot on.

People are acting like he stood up in the dock and offered as the defence 'well everyone else does it'.

Thats not even close to what has happened.

No I'm not saying that but as a legal professional he should be conscious of how moot that point is cuz legally it means nothing. He isn't making a legal argument even if it is very true.

It just looks unprofessional but ur right, I don't know in what context that statement was made so I may be out of line here. All I'm saying is the lawyer should stick to legal arguments. I know that isn't the extent of the defense in court or even part of it and his whole investigation is a political one but u still have to act a certain way being high ranking officials

The truth is even as a simple statement it doesn't make barca look any better PR wise. In fact, it perpetuates a "victim" claim which is exactly the type of ammo that will fuel further pressure in the media.

There is nothing at all unprofessional about stating that Barca should be treated like the rest. Of course they should.

It is a fair thing to say and does not damage the club in any way whatsoever.

It was clear from the start that it was hard to deny wrongdoings, so they just aiming to reduce the punishment.
