Josep Maria Bartomeu

I gotta hand it to Bartomeu. He said there was going to be substantial changes in the squad, and they really happened. 2 new CBs, 2 GKs, a MF and a FW in the first team, holy shit! Sounds like a dream. Granted, none of the players transferred in would be my choice, except Rakitić, but at least Bartomeu followed up on his word, unlike some of his predecessors. I guess anything is better than nothing, at this point.

Oh please…
Are you trying to say that after three summers without any centre back brought to the team, you forgive him and his staff when they "finally" bought Vermaelen & Mathieu ?
No way, what Bartomeu and the board did this summer is the minimum and they shouldn't be thanked.

I blame Rosell for not making defensive signings. For example, Zubi wanted Hummels last summer. He got shot down. Zubi wanted Lucho or Valverde last summer. He got shot down.

Oh no, absolutely not. Don't get me wrong. I still think they're doing a shitty job in the transfer market, it's just that I'm amazed that they actually did something borderline useful for once. And as far as I'm concerned, Mathieu and Vermaelen are just excuse-signings. We still need to find and sign a top quality CB who'll be here for the long run. These are temporary solutions at best, and mostly just a way for the board to say "we signed defenders".

My view as well. This board has lowered our expectations so much that even the current signings seem like great transfer business

During the press-conference, Zubi didn't want to comment on Cuadrado, but he did say on several occassions that they're looking to reinforce the team until 31 August, so there's still a possibility that he comes, yay.

Good job, Barto. Obviously he won't resign, and their hope now lies with Cas. No movement from the socis to get them out still boggles me. I guess Suarez was really to make them happy and avoid a vote of no confidence.

+1

This summer transfer window was better than the ones of the past few years, but that's not saying much. I still can't wait until all of these clowns are gone.

Not like Hummels would have happened anyway. Trying to get him would have been as pointless as trying to get TS.

It won't happen until someone capable of challenging them push for it.

Such clowns  the transfer ban is the least of my worries. Lots of talent in Barça B anyway.. the thing that sucks the most is the fact that these talented youngsters still can't play and will probably move to another club.

Words can no longer explain how incompetent these guys are.

The non-EU kids would still be banned from playing in Europe.

Yeah they won't be eligible for other clubs either... I'm guessing they'll loan those players until they're 18 and able to play for us

Barcelona can't be the only club in Europe that has players under the age of 18 from another continent. There must be a bigger reason as of why they can't play.

Meade (lawyer): "Chelsea, Man City, Madrid and many others do the same as Barça. If FIFA is consistent, they should be punished too." [goal]
