Fake news.

Barca looked just fine in the games Busquets missed this season winning 8 of the 9 he didnt start in th league and came off after 8 mins v Sevilla and on average scored more goals.. if count winnng before he came on v Espanyol etc.

Yet this same 'cant do without Busi' lie gets trotted out constantly.

Usual nonsense and cliches not based on reality.

Results Without Busquets starting in league this season -

Real Sociedad Away - Won 4-1
Elche Home - Won 3-0
Villareal Home - Won 3-0
Espanyol Home - Winning 1-0 until he came on.
Seviila Home - Won 3-0
Villareal Away - Won 1-0
Cadiz Home - Won 2-0
Elche Away - Won 4-0
Vallecano Away - Lost 2-1

Just about every time Busquets didn’t play, we looked more lost than usual in the passing or attacking phases of the game - few do what he can do

22 in 9 games Scored without Busquets... better average than with him in team but still gets made out team look lost without his 'unique skillset'.

Whether we looked lost or not is a bit irrelevant here, coach clearly want a replacement, Frenkie clearly better with a DM behind him and wants to continue playing that position and not as a pivot.

There is a clear need for a new DM, both from general squad building perspective and from our own coach point of view.

That will always be difficult, to get a new starting player for a position that was occupied by a player for 13 years or more. Even if that player was net negative at the end.
Different ideas by coach and SD etc.

Zubimendi is expensive at 60M, and buyout means 60M on one payment. He loves his club and they will play CL for first time in a decade and 5th time in their history, and he is already followed by EPL clubs.

Above that, he has ton of question marks on his long term fit here.

Kimmich is great, but wishful thinking.

At the end, Xavi might need to compromise a lot with that position, considering financial constraints of the club.

Gundo is not CDM.

KImmich is almost impossible, maybe if things broke down further more between them, he can come, but doubt they will leave him for less then 90mil.

Zubimendi is decent but not wc talent, 60mil for him is not small amount.

But again better pay 60mil for him then 20 fpr Amrabat.

Maybe Brozovic is best option, if Inter gives us money plus Broz for Kessie.

Who would you like to see at Barca?

I wouldn't mind him for free or for cheap.
But imo, people think that he is better than he is.
Do you know how we sometimes say: Busi, Rakitic, Suarez or xx is a culprit of all of our CL disasterclasses?
Well, Germany's NT won a WC in 2014'.
After that Kimmich steps in.
I know, 1 player can't be guilty for everything, but since he became a key player and their brain, Germany turned to an ultimate NT shit, even going out in a group stage at WCs in 2018 and 2022.

At Bayern, the same: Bayern played CL finals in 2010, 2012 and 2013.
Then Pep came and tried to "Barcelonize" Bayern and one of key players in that idea was Kimmich.
Coincidence or not, after moving from a more German style to "Barca's" style, Bayern and Kimmich played in 1 final in the next 10 years.
Also, I would question his mental strength and leadership, nowhere near the level of German/Bayern players from 15-20 years ago.

I have personally never had "wow" moment watching Kimmich.
He is good. But he looks exactly as some laboratory experiment where a German kid was injected Busi's DNA or something.
I was never a huge fan of Busi either, and Kimmich looks like a bad copy of Barca DNA midfielders.
In that sense, I can see where the over-hype is coming from among our fans regarding Kimmich (because he reminds them of our style and Pep's football), the same as how Arthur or Riki Puig got too much credit in the early days only because on the eye test they resembled of Pep's glory days.

That said, I don't believe that Kimmich would have been a success at Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool or Real.
He would be a huge meh, like Thiago.

On the other hand, he could play somewhat well here, at Barca and at City, because he looks like a footballer created in a lab.
But since nobody can recreate Pep's football except Pep himself, then why bothering buying his type of players who will be lost here?

All in all, a German Wallmart Busi.

BBZ, its been mentioned before, before 2010, and certainly in the mid 2000s, Bayern were not very good, what is to blame for that?

This goes in cycles, sometimes a top team makes a few UCL-finals in a short time-span, then you have to wait a good few years for the next, just how it is.

I doubt Bayern were going to keep their 2013-level either way, doesn't matter if Pep was there or not, its not substainable for more than a few years.

So anyone but Kimmich?
The answer is Adrien Rabiot.

German NT has been dog shit for years, even when likes of Kroos was still playing. Their defence is actually tragic. Likes of Kehrer and Bella-Kotchup play regularly.

They will get grouped in 2024 too.

@BBZ8800

You did everything but answer my question dawg. Who are these mental monsters you like? Is Kroos one? Gundogan?

And I doubt you have seen Kimmich much if you think he's a typical tiki taka player.

Naive thinking that BBZ actually thinks.
I for one think he could be great DM for us. Not because he's uber player, but how good of a fit he is. Not only younger stronger and faster than Busi even from 5 years ago, but also has lot of Xavi-the player traits. Good controller, cannot be intimidated by press, makes quick decisions, also scores goals. As if there could be better alternatives. Barca cannot hunt star from the sky mostly and if there is on, it's him.

Rabiot/Kessie are about the only two mids an think of BBZ wanting in last yera or so. Both the type to take Barca to next levels and far better than FDJ/Pedri etc.

Often does the same... says club players and targets are not good enough and then doesnt say who should be signed.

About signings for us, imo, majority of players fail.

We even did some stats a few years ago, and iirc, 70% of big name signings were flops or meh at best in the last 20 years.

The latest example is Auba vs Lewa swap. We have spent 50m, gained nothing.

In that sense, I am currently not for big money signings unless they are Haaland or Mbappe.
We are just swapping players, losing money and quality is the same.

I am not a huge fan of Frenkie, but he is good currently.
Pedri is also there, and even though I am not a huge fan of his either, we surely won't find a better fit.
So, don't change them.

Regarding Kimmich, historically German Bayern's players aren't too good when they move to other countries, except Kroos who moved in early years.

So, regarding Kimmich, I don't rate him as highly as average fan here.
But also, since he never played outside of Bayern, it is questionable whether he would offer even Bayern's level of his displays (look at Lewa who is probably 30-50% worse than at Bayern).

So, we would probably get a weaker version of Kimmich and even then we would need to wait for 2 seasons at least for him to click with the team (look at Frenkie, Kessie, Arda, Coutinho, Denis, Vidal etc who all needed a lot of time to click. The last midfielder who clicked faster was Rakitic, but he came from Sevilla and knew the country, league and the type of football).

So:
1. I don't think he is that good
2. He would need 2+ seasons to click with the team and the league
3. He probably wouldn't be any better than cheaper domestic solutions
4. How much would he cost?
5. He would be 29 during his first season, let's say that he would click aged 30. Yet, we wanted to get rid of Rakitic aged 30-31 for being too old even though he knew the club and was never injured, playing the highest number of matches every season.
To some extent, getting rid of Busi and Rakitic for Kimmich feels like getting rid of Suarez and Messi only to sign Auba and Lewa and trying to re-sign Messi again.
And losing tons of money during that process.

I would rather keep the current team or sign someone for 0-5m, like Brozovic as a short-term fix than splashing let's say 50-60m for soon to be 29 questionable Bayern player Kimmich.

FDJ was voted player of season in his second season and was Barcas best mid in his first season.

Nonsense to add him to a list of players who never 'clicked'.

Kessie will never 'click' and is levels below anything FDJ has ever been at Barca.

The rumoured asking price fo Brozovic is 40m.. more or less not even answering the question by bringing up his name.

This is Frenkie's 4th season.
He came here as the future best midfielder in the world, the savior of football, the savior of Barca, the most perfect TikiTaka addition.
Yet, even in his 4th season, 90% of fans had no clue what is his best position in our team.

So, it is hard to say that Frenkie has ever clicked, especially not in his early days.

If Brozovic is anything more than 15m, pass.
For that money, we should stick with combinations with Gavi or Nico.

About Kimmich, I haven't read al, the posts.
What is his rumored price?
Anything more than 30m is the new version of Arda and Griezmann, retirement home/the last big check.
