It sucks that neymar is hurt and I hope he recovers but the immature people are the ones wishing harm on Zuniga for a dumb tackle that went unpunished by a very bad ref. Anyway, everyone thinks I'm crazy having an opinion that Zuniga actually wasn't thinking "hehe let me just end this guys career". I'll leave on that note.

Just leave it, Paganini, just try to understand we Cules are extremely mad at Zuniga because he put Neymat though this ordeal, whether it was an intentional act or not.

Of course he didn't want to break Neymar's back. But he wanted to hurt him. The foul was deliberate. Your excuse of Neymar being a diver is pathetic because it has absolutely zero relevance to what happened.

Those who want him to get the shit kicked out of him are equally as bad. No defending them here. Also, making up excuses and saying that its ironic that Neymar got injured and ref overlooked it since he dives a lot and then switching the topic to Colombia players.... It certainly didn't sound like you had a simple opinion like you state now.

Anyway, whatever floats your boat.

The foul was deliberate, however those kind of fouls happen many times in every single match... This was just a combination of very bad refereeing and very bad luck...

In normal circumstances, his foul on Hulk was way more dangerous than the one on Neymar, just that today was one of those days when shit hits the fan... Just like the day Falcao got injured, a player made a bad decision that ended up with our striker in the hospital...

Maybe Zuñiga should be held accountable in some way, but I don't see a reason to ban him, and even if there is, I think it should be two or three matches tops...

I think players that commit these fouls should be banned for as long as the player they hurt are out. Something like this would make players think twice before doing those nasty tackles.

People like him deserves to get banned from football for 4 months and not Suarez.

Fucker should be banned for at least 6 months

Clearly intentional, he could have ended Neymar's career

Should get banned for at least 8 months if Suarez got 4 (which, btw, I think was deserved).

What the hell is this?!?!

What Zuniga did was no more brutal than a lot of common dirty tackles that are done game by game (studs up challenges, horrible collisions, etc.) and is not particularly notable in the world of dirty fouls other than for the fact that it caused Neymar to get injured. This challenge was of the same magnitude as many others which only lead to yellow cards or the occasional red. Hell even Ronaldo was involved with tearing Mallo's ACL and breaking Manquillo's neck (an injury FAR worse than what happened to Neymar). Does he suddenly deserve to serve bans of 1/2 a year or longer???

Penalize the guy for what he did, an obviously dirty play. The whole "ban him for ____ number of months or forever" shit is just post-Suarez escalation that just reeks of kneejerk. Football and a lot of sports in general get intense, in times of desperation a fairly large percentage of players will lose their cool. It needs to be disciplined but are you seriously gonna hand out season-long bans to every other player just because?

Deliberately kneeing someone in the spine is far worse than biting someone. It wasn't a foul, it was a deliberate attempt to injure a player. I stand by what I said: he should be banned for at least 8 months. At the very least, players who do shit like this should be banned until the player they injured returns. FIFA needs to be way more harsh when it comes to punishing shit like this.

yep, the overreaction is a joke. he should have gotten a yellow or more likely a red and thats the end of it, the fact that he didn't is on the ref.

How exactly can you guys tell if something is deliberate or not? Like you guys were all "watch it a few times and it'll be clear" and... I don't see it. To me it just looks like a really stupid foul, he seems like the guy would do something like that. I highly doubt any real human being thinks, "I'm losing and this player is on the other team and is really good so let's knee him in the back," that just seems beyond ludicrous.

Regardless of whether the Neymar foul was intentional or not, he should have already gotten a red for kicking Hulk's knee. Disgusting.
