Juan Foyth

As someone else correctly said, this is a bad long term transfer as it only suits Xavi ball, and serves no purpose outside it or it Xavi changes tactics.

A non versatile holding fullback intended to add possession in the defensive midfield right space and not overlap or offer anything offensively. A much worse, but younger, version of Azpi who won't offer anything different than if we were to play Kounde there.

Perplexing scouting all around but consistent with the Azpi scouting.

Don't like it this one bit and Roig must be laughing if we go anywhere near his buyout.

The Villarreal fb we should have been targetting got sold last week- and he isn't anything particularly spectacular either.

This is the last thing we need right now to be honest as it is still unclear whether Xavi has it in him to adapt and thrive. If he continues being as rigid as he has been he won't be the Barca manager next season.

Seeing how poorly guys like Lampard and Gerrard are doing in the Premier League just shows you how tough it is to become a good manager.

I would of expected Xavi to prioritize pressing and triangles, having the midfield always be available for a quick pass. A quick ball into space to fast wingers would of been a bonus.

Instead we have a midfield that is miles apart, wingers alone on the touchline and a team built around Busquets, a player that has been shit for half a decade.

Didnt expect Xavi to coach like this at all. He has a great team that he could do so many interesting things with yet he's playing 1970s English footy.

Romero says his buyout clause goes up from 42M to around 55M in last 5 days of the transfer window.
If Villarreal aren't willing to negotiate a reasonable price, we need to move on

I guess that's about it.. bad luck

He was never worth the 42M anyway, much less 54, which is rumoured to be his release clause now in the last days of the window. Pretty sure Villarreal wouldn't have accepted any less. Maybe we can get him early next summer and actually negotiate a good price (30M max). That is, if he recovers well and gets back to his best on the pitch before that, of course.

Sport saying again that Xavi is insisting on Foyth.

If that is true then club need to put foot down and stop giving him so much control of signings.

Over rates Spanish/La Liga players and underestimates how much todays game needs legs and younger/prime players.

No wonder likes of Planes fucked off with the way the club is spending the money it has.

Wouldnt be surprised if Cruyff is off next.

I like Foyth but don't get Xavi's obssesion with him when we already have Kounde who is a similar profile of defensive RB. Still wouldn't mind Foyth for like 15m but clearly Villarreal won't sell for less than 40m or so and even if we could afford to pay that much (we can't) we shouldn't.

Still don't understand why Xavi has discarded Arnau Martinez who would be the best option for affordable price. Has a 20m clause but could lower that fee including (loans) players like Pablo Torre or some Barca B players.

Laaaazy scouting. You got Kounde for that holding RB profile. Should be looking for an offensive RB. Especially if half black leg returns.
