Juan Manuel Mata

Yeah, one of our best buys in the Roman era really. All class. He should start for Spain, and be given a run in the side. He hasn't really shone for Spain but he never gets a run in the side even if his form exceeds who plays.

Off topic, but he is one of the few players in the world who can pull off a beard (one other would be Pirlo). It's a perfect fit for him. And that's an achievement in my book.

It rotates quite a bit. Sometimes VDB decides to opt for traditional wingers over roaming attacking mids. One day he might use Navas and Pedro and the next he might use Iniesta and Silva. For strikers he constantly rotates between Cesc, Villa, Torres, Llorente, and even Navas once in the Euros. Although in whatever pecking order there may be, i'd certainly go for Mata over Silva right now.

Mata's probably more devastating in the final third than any Spanish midfielder, than includes Iniesta and Xavi, his record speaks for itself. Give it to him outside the opposition penalty area and he WILL punish you. He should be in there well ahead of Pedro, Cazorla and Silva, in fact, Valencia looked a better side when Mata was the playmaker after Silva left.

To be honest though, Spain have been so successful recently and have built that success on the foundations of the Barcelona squad, they could put Joey Barton in there and still dominate matches. The future of that team is ridiculous, Mata, Thiago, Isco, Muniain, Fabregas is still only 25 too. I'm gutted, the only half decent midfielder we're producing is Jack Wilshere, and I would say Josh McEachran is we hadn't stunted his growth for two years. Time will tell with him though.

Errr why? Barcelona play their youths and still batter everyone else in the league. Spain still field Torres and win matches. Their dominance in possession is unheard of, and they could play 10 men an still do it. I'm not sure why you 'hate it', it's a testament to just how great they are, no? :icon_confused:

Either he got it wrong or believes he'd fck things up as he's a midfielder (tbh he probably would, but he'd still be brilliant on twitter)

Is karnivore that Chelsea fan that was on here that really rated Josh McEachran just wondering

Anyways when a Spanish player goes to England and Look like the next coming of Jesus, we need to remind ourself it's a Spanish player in England.
A good splanish player goes there and look great, and so on and so forth.
