Alonso the best passer in Europe? I'm out.

Who's better? and you better not fuckin say Xavi - best distributer of the ball, plays it safe more oftan than not, but by no means the best passer though. Alonso is clearly the best in Europe. it's not even debatable. Pin point accuracy from wherever on the pitch.

I've seen enough trolls to know where this is going.

He rarely wastes a pass whatever he tries. One of Real's best signings, very underrated actually - I cannot believe Benitez tried to replace him with Gareth Barry, further proves how much a moron he is.

It might seem so as he attempts (and succeeds) in a lot of long Hollywood passes. But he's not very good at finding spaces for shorter, more difficult passes. For example, through the legs, around the corner, through a crowd of players etc. Passing is as much about vision and intelligence as the skill itself.

Alonso is underrated but he is only a beast at long balls (even then Pirlo's probably better at those) and set pieces. Xavi has the ability to play long balls, through balls, short safe passes, tiki taka, set pieces, and he is among the best in the world at all of them.

Footy, look back to the pass that started the sequence of passes resulting in Villa's goal vs Portugal in South Africa.

That's probably why Xavi's accuracy is around 95%(113 passes per game average, ), and Alonso's 81%(70 passes per game average). Xavi's long ball accuracy is also better than Alonso's (8.7 to 7). Stats from whoscored.
That's the kind of aspect of a player's game in which stats talk very loud.

How do you know xavi isn't as good as alonso in long balls, Does xavi 'try' and usually miss??
He doesn't do it, Because it isn't required of him, Not in Barcelona and not with spain, Yet the type of passing he does is the reason why Barca and spain are flourishing, And it's something only xavi can provide.

cesc is a better all around footballer than mata. he is better in the air, a better tackler, a better dribbler, better pass rate while mata has shown a little better goal/assist production this season (all comps) with a few more appearances. the reason this may be though is that mata is an attacker and takes many more shots, 57 to cesc 31. both are quality quality footballers though and i'd be happy with either of them on my team. mata is also a hard worker and intercepts a lot of balls and his agility is superior to cesc.

as for the xavi vs alonso pass thing, that is simply ridiculous as is the iniesta vs mata thing. im jumping out the window with galning on that one.

Fair enough. Now that I think about it, he pinges it on the ground straight to player's feet numerous times. But it's hardly the tiki-taka style passing through the crowd that I was referring to. Replace bolded part with "not as good as the others" :)

Alonso is underrated by barcelona supporters but for everyone else he rated as what he is amongst one of the best players in the world in his position.
