Hope Roque will turn into our Alvarez but honestly I doubt it, at least not in his first one-two seasons. Surely I hope he'll prove me wrong from his first match here onwards.

He got his chance in City this season while KdB and/or Haaland were injured and failed miserably. Chris Wood scored 14 goals in Prem while playing 800 minutes less than Alvarez who scored 11. Also outscored by players like Yoanne Wisa, Hwang Hee Chan and Luton’s Carlton Morris. Scoring on every 250 mins. Good stat padding in CL group stage and Copenhagen scoring 5 goals.

Crazy to think there were fans who thought he should be starting for City.

Stop looking at stats and watch games with your own eyes.

Pep hasn't consistently played him as a ST which is natural position. There are times where he played on the wings and as midfield.

Could he have done better? Yes, his touch needs to improve and loses the ball a lot. Also the fact that there were key departures like Gundogan and Mahrez didn't help and with the injury to KDB.

I'd prefer that he leaves City to get consistent game time in his favored position.
