Julián Álvarez

50mil? Don't believe that for a second. Send Lewy to Saudi and sign Alvarez.
Every major club on the planet would have submitted a bid already. Short therm, don't see him leaving unless Pep leaves.

Then again, I think he would want to be top dog in City's attack. Him or Haaland has to leave in a year or two. Still young and already won a lot there. For sure he's targeting a move to Barca/Real eventually.

Alvarez as good as a player he is will get nowhere near the numbers of Haaland to be the main attacker. So if it was a choice between them, City would be ditching Alvarez.

Alvarez is class though as he’s versatile, he’s able to perform everywhere across the attacking positions. Performed at CAM very well this year.

Alvarez goals are more important than those of Haaland
Also Alvarez without goals is a very important player
A Haaland not scoring is literally playing with 10 men

In what sense are they more important?

Haaland is missing De Bruyne no doubt but City are not dropping someone who scored 52 goals in 53 games because he didn’t score in the Champions League semi final or final.

Ship has sailed. Chosen Ferran over him will go down in history as a mistake. But not a huge one as Xavi probably wouldn't have got the best out of Alvarez anyways.

Haaland score most of his goal when the team is already dominating the gameplay or outscoring the opponent
Alvez is usually brought as a joker and succeed.
But most importantly when Haaland don't score he end up with a 5 or 6 scoring at most including finals when shit get though
Alvarez is not only goal scoring but playmaking with City and Argentina.

He is probably referring to their current form, NT and club. There were some important goals scored by Alvarez this season for City.

And he usually scores more golazos than Haaland + free-kicks. But it could be that you are right and Haaland is a better fit for City's setup.
