Spent 140m on the wrong midfielder.
Add 100m on top of that and even that probably wouldn't be enough.
Not to forget how tough it would be to convince De Bruyne to leave the perfect manager for him to a team that plays slow, sterile possession based football with an average manager.

He's a great player no doubt but I'd prefer to look for our own younger (and cheaper) version of De Bruyne who can grow up with a rebuilding team (after we finally decide to do what we should) and become one of our next key players/stars in a few years. Who knows, maybe we might already have that in Pedri.
