We saw some of his many limitations in action tonight in his current version (approaching 32 years of age). Had some decent moments as well in terms of holding the ball with his back to the goal and laying it off.
However he is not a player, at all, that I expect to change dynamics of games or score goals. Hence my amusement and lack of understanding of the transfer in the first place. His performance tonight did not change that initial reaction to his transfer but obviously he should be given more chances before the final verdict is put out.
However it does not look good based on that performance alone. He looked much slower than I would have imagined. Not expecting anything from him of worth which is rather sad as we could have had a genuine substitute for Suárez that we could have relied on in case of such a need. Alas, can't have it all.
