Koeman's Succesor? Media Speaks!

The thing is a top coach makes the bad deals seem less horrible due to getting the most out of players: the same way Klopp got the most out of Coutinho. Werner is probably not a great transfer, but Tuchel made it work reasonably well until they could upgrade, and even won a CL with Werner playing his part.

That's the difference.

They still won CL with Werner. So yes he made it work insanely well. Werner still has some good qualities, like movement etc which Tuchel used well.

Barca he would have been loaned already to somewhere else for no money.

But you don't know that until they get exposed lol

True, but that's why trying them is cheaper.

Of course, failure is always possible.

Look at transfer like Hazard. Who the hell knew he was bust like that? Totally finished.

No guarantee in football whatsoever

Same as Coutinho coming on his prime to Barca and never playing on same level again.(other than six months)

It's easier to find good players than top coaches (there are only a few of them and not often available) and OTOH it's easier to offload overrated/average coaches than overpaid players.

That's why most clubs when a change is needed first think about replacing a coach even if in some cases the players are at least as big if not a bigger problem. I think we'll struggle as long as certain players are here regardless of who our coach is. Unless a new coach gets a full support from Laporta to finally push them outside of the club at whatever cost which should've been done years ago. Would basically be addition by substraction even if we won't immediately get someone to replace them.

It's pretty obvious we need to change half of the team (if not more) while also get an improvement at a coaching position. Neither will be easy but with limited resources improving the squad will be tougher/take more time so we should find someone who will get the most out of existing players while we'll hopefully inject more (and better) talent to the club in coming years.

Yea, we're at a point where the best two scenarios are already impossible due to the long-lasting repercussions from the disaster generated by Bartomeu & Co.

We had a window of 1-2 years where we could have made better decisions and today things would be much different. But we blew that chance, got ourselves even deeper in the mud, and from now on the way back will be tough, filled with a lot of problems along the way. So we simply can't have a manager that uses the bad things in the team as a constant excuse for his limited abilities. We need someone fresh thinking, ambitious, with a vision and a talent for spotting and developing talent.

The good part is that all big clubs go through this reconstruction phase, and most reconstructions take time. Let's hope it doesn't last a decade like in the case of some famous clubs: Liverpool, United, Milan etc.

Take Bayern. The period from 2002 or so, to 2010 is a disaster. They even failed to qualify for CL at times.

Would rather we'd kept da Krossman till June 2022 and save the divorce fees

Then can bring either Xavi or 10H without a rushed, panicked feel to it

Rangnick for sports director was available as a free agent just a few months back but we missed out and Loco signed him in July.

Guy knows football through and through and the success he's had with the Red Bull teams as the SD is far out

Apparently Valverde has been approached according to multiple sources but they're not naming him directly at this moment.

🚨 [@AdriaSoldevila - Goal Espa?a] | Roberto Martinez has a release clause in his contract with the Belgian National Team which allows him to leave if any top club approaches him. Xavi Hernandez and two unnamed persons are also an option for the club.

Yes.
Honestly, If Laporta is so agitated with Koeman, it's better to just promote Schreuder as 1st team manager until the summer.
Then bring Erik Ten Haag here

What do we know about Roberto Martinez? What is his coaching style or preferred formation?

Everton reject and then moved on to national team football, where he was rather successful. Does that sound familiar to you?

To answer your question.
Belgium: 3-4-3 and some 3-4-1-2 variation
Everton: 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-4-1

He is the chosen one. Funnily we send our failed players to Everton and they send their coaches to us. Nice.
