Koeman's Succesor? Media Speaks!

I would only sack Koeman for Gallardo tbh. Ten Hag won't leave Ajax before next summer (so why pay out Koeman only to replace him with probably an inferior interim manager if Ten Hag is your target?) and I just have a feeling both Xavi and Laporta think it's not the time for his return yet so nothing will happen on that front for 2-3 more years at least.

Yeah, that's my point. If we can get one of those three now, great. If not I would rather keep Koeman for now. And try in January for Gallardo, who should be the easiest to get (unless Xavi really wants it).

Gallardo has zero experience outside of South America. There is a good chance he would be another disaster. I also can't understand why are people so crazy about Ten Hag? He is managing a team in a league that's far from competitive. Except for 2018/19 season his track record is far from impressive.

Both points apply to Xavi in at least equal measure.

Bielsa doesn't last a lot under pressure.

Pimienta, Xavi, or Ten Hag. Don't see other viable names. Valverde for the lolz maybe.

In comparison to those two Xavi at least knows the club from the bottom up. I am not saying he is a perfect solution, he is a gamble, but I can't see anyone better who is available right now. Why the hell should we go to South America to get someone who has equal or even worse chance of succeeding?

Don't get me wrong I am the first one who would be delighted to see Klopp, Tuchel or Pep here but that's just not realistic. IMHO we should either get a world class manager (I seriously can't see who would that be right now) or we should gamble with Xavi.

That means nothing. It's not like that's a 24/7 job. :D

IMHO none of those 2 should have an advantage over Xavi.

He has contract with them so he probably won't break it.

Xavi only has Qatar league experience. It's a joke compare to South America. Plus Gallardo wins Copa Libertadores twice while Xavi fails miserably in AFC Champion league.

I'd sell all of our best 3 players for 5m. combined if someone could guarantee me Pep, Klopp, or Tuchel would be at the club for 10 full years. It's extremely hard to get the elite managers.

South American football is a joke right now in comparison to European top tier football. Again, I am not saying Xavi is a perfect candidate, he is a huge gamble but so is Gallardo. In conclusion, if I have to gamble I would rather put my money on Xavi than Gallardo.

And Qatar football is a joke compared to SA football. Now you know why Gallardo is above Xavi in the list.

If Tuchel is here and plays the Chelsea way, people here will want him out

Zero chances. Tuchel is basically the most flexible manager around atm. He can play possession, defense, everything. Extremely adaptable and competent playing most styles. Similar to Pep post-Barcelona, except more pragmatic.

He'd be the manager everybody would be happy with, from Cruyffists to fans that prefer a more direct style.

He will not play tiki taka or something like that. A direct game like Rijkaard and Lucho and focus more on defense.

Not sure if everybody was happy about him a year ago or befofe Chelsea's UCL glory.

The image of Bar?a centering balls at Piqu?, Araujo and Luuk de Jong as the only alternative to overcome a 0-1 against Granada at the Camp Nou is now part of the club's history! [sport]
