Koke

He is no way in hell overrated. He is a great player. He works like a machine on the field, Excellent passer of the ball, has good vision. Will probably be one of the best midfielders in future..

You can say that about many players. It is just that so far I have not been that impressed by him. Definitely much worse than Cesc and Thiago in my opinion.

I don't think so for Cesc. Koke's more consistent AND has more to his game than giving final passes/scoring goals (that too against rubbish opposition most of the time). He's got a great engine, great defensive output, great passer in buildup, much better awareness, and excels at indirect set pieces. All that and he's 22 years old. He's not silky like Iniesta which decreases his aesthetic appeal but as a footballer he's immense at what he does.

The Thiago comparison is conditional. For a team like Atletico, Koke>Thiago without any hesitation. For a team like Barca, it's the other way around. Both are great footballers though.

Im still not sure on whether Koke will fit in. Obviously we won't get him anyway, but just...

He is not a good fit for Barça in central midfield. Maybe if Iniesta drops back more but no one wants that. Signing him would be the ultimate death of tiki taka.

Why do you say this? Koke is a good passer, has a great work rate, good defensive contribution, and very sound technically. I think he'd fit in very well.

People forget Koke is only 22 years old and already showing all this talent. He is also playing in a defensive system that is not friendly to more technical and creative players, yet still does very well. 1 or 2 seasons in a technical and ball dominant side like Barca and Koke's more rough aspects will be polished out nicely.

IMO currently only Thiago and healthy Gundogan would be better options.

Moot point though, I strongly doubt Barca pry him off Atleti's death grip.

Yeah, I go back & forth on this because I love Pogba's upside but you might be right that Koke's lack of technical prowess is merely a consequence of the football Simeone has them playing

Still, Atletico, for me, are always a selling club...There's a price for him but would depend how much and if the player wanted to move which is far from clear considering he's a true rojiblanco

Yeah also the chance to replace Xavi might be too good to pass. Either way, 60 mill is crazy. It would feel like a knee jerk reaction. Also, sort of feels like a stab in the back to La Masia.

Would rather we get Rakitic for 2 seasons until Kaptoum is ready, would be much cheaper as well.

Next year there'd be Rakitic, Iniesta, Rafinha, Roberto and Denis Suarez at AM/CM, with Busquets and Samper at DM (Halilovic in attack), then the year after that Rakitic is sold and Kaptoum promoted.
