Who days Atletico are gonna sell him for less than his release clause?

With the CL, la liga and Diego Costa money coming in they don't have to sell anymore this season

but 40-50 Million could buy them a few good players, Pay off More of there Debt, But it all depends on who else leaves and if Koke tries to force his way out.

Aren't they going to sell the stadium and move to La Peineta and cover their debts with the money from the municipality?

Oliver Torres has much more potential and he'd cost less than 10M. Buy him and send him on loan somewhere.

So, somone with much more talent than one of the most exciting midfield talents out there would cost just 10M? Yeah, that makes perfect sense.

... Oh, and he hasn't, btw.

Of course he does... Deulofeu also has more talent than Navas but would still cost less :)

Why do you say this? Koke is a good passer, has a great work rate, good defensive contribution, and very sound technically. I think he'd fit in very well.

People forget Koke is only 22 years old and already showing all this talent. He is also playing in a defensive system that is not friendly to more technical and creative players, yet still does very well. 1 or 2 seasons in a technical and ball dominant side like Barca and Koke's more rough aspects will be polished out nicely.

IMO currently only Thiago and healthy Gundogan would be better options.

Moot point though, I strongly doubt Barca pry him off Atleti's death grip.

I just don't see him as skilful and intelligent enough to replace Xavi and play in this position of utmost importance to our style of play. I consider players like Gündogan and Pjanic more naturally suited to our central midfield.

That's not to say Lucho can't teach him that, he's certainly talented enough to learn a few things and maybe he would prove me wrong IF he did indeed join Barça.

tbh I don't see any problem with Koke though we don't know how he'd fit here.

We don't need an exact replacement for Xavi, there is no exact player like him (Oliver Torres is too young to start regulary IMO). I don't mind getting a new player who adds different things to our squad since we seem to be a little stuck atm. Our team will only benefit from fresh blood. Maybe it's not that bad that Koke is not an exact replacement. He adds defensive strenght which would be an awesome addition since we are currently lacking balance.

I agree that Gundogan if healthy would be a better fit, but take into account that Koke is only 22, and hasn't had the luxury, unlike both Thiago and Gundogan, of playing within offensive ball playing systems. What Koke has been able to do at such a young age in a system that is decidedly defensive and not friendly to ball playing midfielders, is pretty impressive.

I can totally see why you would be skeptical of him, because he does have some roughness to his play and some aspects needing polishing, however I attribute that the team and the system he plays in. One season in Barca's ball dominant and technical passing and possession system and I think you'll see Koke shine. He'll still be only 23 then.

Gundogan might never be the same, and Thiago is Pep's boy. Koke is the perfect player to take up Xavi's role in the team. This team is in desperate need of new blood and Koke, mark my words, would shine here.

The Resurrección begins with Koke. C'mon even his name is perfect; you can't say that you don't want him here.
