Your problem is you’re trying to degrade a league you don’t follow. Yes, Nice finished 3rd in Ligue 1 last season, but that doesn’t make them the 3rd strongest club in France anymore than Leicester City winning the EPL in 15/16 made them the strongest club in England. PSG, Monaco and Lyon were competing on multiple fonts deep into the season while Nice was eliminated from Europe before the winter break, allowing them to focus solely on the league.
I do not agree that Napoli, Roma, and Inter are stronger than Monaco, Lyon, and Marseille and nothing from European to domestic results support that idea. That is your opinion, but it isn’t based in reality. In reality, Monaco and Lyon have the strongest results of the clubs mentioned as well as the infracture to maintain their strength into the future. As far as Ligue 1 heading down? This is also false. The competition is stronger than its ever been and growing.
You got that wrong. I'm not comparing Ligue 1 teams with Ligue 1 teams. I'm comparing Ligue 1 teams vs their Serie A counterparts. And Serie A comes on top, which is why they're the 3rd ranked league in Europe, and Ligue 1 is 5th. I don't need to extensively follow Ligue 1 to know for example that Juve, Napoli, Roma are stronger than any french team not named PSG. It's just common sense.
Nothing from European results support that idea? What about Roma winning one of the toughest groups, and Monaco finishing last in one of the easiest? Is there any better proof than that?
