Think it is also very much down to weaker league quality, even if you don't agree. PSG basically don't have another competition outside some 2-3 good games in CL prior to last 16 stage where they can really feel the pressure of a big game. Which is why when they play in these CL games, they choke.

Well, then explain to me why PSG did play well against a complete United side in the first leg but bottled against United reserves ?

The L1 level team is very much the one we faced today.

It's not as much pressure as in the decisive game.

Far from it man. United defended really well after the 20 min. mark or so. Much better than those teams you beat 5-0 or 8-0 at home or whatever. It's true that they were weak in offense.

And then you agree with me that the decisive factor is the pressure.

That goes with my analysis that it is a mental issue.

Yes, but you get used to the pressure as you play a lot of big important games. Which PSG isn't playing except maybe 3-4 times a year. If that.

Laughing at the reincarnation of Pelé and Messi aside, one bad game is not going to change that much other than prove that he is no leader yet (as expected) and that he is no Messi. He relies on service. Now it should also be perfectly clear that he is nothing more than a very, very talented number 9. To compare him with creators and distributors like Messi is a joke.

I would still go for him but I have a feeling that better talents (number 9's) will emerge. Other than his insane pace and acceleration (and early raise to fame) he does not have amazing technique at all nor some exceptional eye for the goal. Not sure if he is as huge a talent as the hype post WC and that first season with Monaco would suggest. So far he has failed to show something extraordinary in the CL for 2 seasons running. In games were QSG were better and arguably were favorites. Against a very bad RM last season and an even worse Man Utd this season playing with high school kids and missing 10 players. Really a black mark on his CL career so far.

Then how come the other Ligue 1 sides are doing fine for their standards. Monaco, Lyon etc. loses against a better opposition than them and even create upset.

PSG tends to lose when they have done the best part of the job already. I mean what pressure do you have when you have 2 away goals advantage and play versus the academy players of United. Really, i can't see it.

It is just unbelievable. Think, i'll stay in denial. Can't handle it.

tonight i think he just showed his age, something rare for him. some poor decision making (although still got an assist) and too many unneeded flicks/backheels. if Neymar was playing i think PSG progress. Mbappe is hyped and looks to be a generational talent but hes still young

Worst game I've ever seen him play.

I feel he should follow Tuchel's advice and concentrate in being a finisher more than anything else.

PSG were robbed though. Never a pen - I can't stand them and yet I'm still fuming over it.

Of course, Neymar is the main man at PSG.

But, seriously, we shouldn't and didn't need Neymar to qualify. There is no excuses. I can accept if we took some goals like the one Ajax scored. They were all playing like they were Zidane, Messi, etc.

Those goals are a farce. United didn't even have to work to score those goals. They didn't need to play or work some magic.

Unacceptable.

I agree with you, both goals down to silly errors and the third is questionable (in my opinion), it must feel bad to go out in this fashion.

Don't worry, you learn from these types of things and grow.

I think you just took United for granted, especially with their depleted team tonight.

PSG need to spend money more wisely and build a TEAM rather than a project/brand that we keep hearing imo. Tuchel is the man for that and i think you'll come back stronger but blowing your budget (well, FFP budget atleast) on 2 players is madness and leaves you with mediocre players starting. Neymar cost 220mil and its purely down to being unlucky but thats 220mil worth sitting in the stands.. i realize its circumstances but in football now, putting all your eggs in 1 basket (player) is doomed to fail, Juve are finding that out with Ronaldo

anyways no hard feelings from me, imo that penalty was a farce and VAR is aids but football embraced it and here we are

No.
I don't believe that anymore. They said the same thing after Barcelona return leg.

This one is for me a true humiliation, at home, against MU reserves. You can't go lower than that (incoming PSG proving me wrong in the future) !

PSG forums are on turmoil and we want to sell all those bottlers.

But the thing is it shouldn't even be down to Neymar.
We played like shit today but what about United. They played worse than Dijon did when we faced them. And it is normal, they have 11 men down. LMAO.
I would accept the defeat if we were truly outplayed by the opponents and shit like that. I mean, even Barça when they lost at Roma, Roma pushed for it. MU didn't even push for it. It fells like it went just down on their hands.
