Kylian Mbappé

Told you long ago that the French team that won the 2018 WC were overrated as individuals and below the Zidane, Henry generation.

Here we are, 4 years in and bar Mbappe(to some extent since he didn't win shit individually or CL) they are all in the gutter.

Na, some of you are simply threatened by the fact that France produces better players than Spain.

I mean ofcourse.

Overall Spain are midgets compared to France.

France is an absolute international Football powerhouse in the truest sense. I'm not talking about Domestic Leagues here before the La Liga fanatics jump at me.

France producing the best players in Europe only for 90% of them to join teams in England, Spain and Germany is not a good look on Ligue 1

How many players of French NTs starting XI play in France?

Look up the winners of European competitions in the last 20 years mate. France also won less NT competitions than Spain in the 21st century. This century, they started developing truly good players in large quantities only in 2015 or so. Before that were years of mediocrity and Lyon domination.

It's predictable that you'd go into your domestic league chatter.

The point is: In International Football Spain are midgets compared to France.

You see, England have a way better domestic league than Brazil yet Brazil are probably the biggest International Footy powerhouse. Way bigger.

Try and understand the point.

Umm why should I only look at this century? Because this was Spain's golden era?

Did Football start in 2000?

In conversations like this, history definitely matters.

We aren't talking just currently, are we?

If the statement was: The Spanish NT has been better and more successful in every way in the last 15 years. I'd nod in agreement.

Overall though: different story.

Spain won EURO 2008, WC 2010, EURO 2012.

France won EURO 2000 and WC 2018.

And yes, Brazil is still a way bigger international powerhouse than England. Both Spain and France are as well.

You replied to Jair, who talked about the present in his post. Right now, France produces more and better players than Spain. It is a recent development after years of mediocrity. It's not connected to France or Spain's historical status, just improvements at the youth level.

In Football History, Spain doesn't hold a candle to France, Italy or Germany. Simple as that.

That's despite being the most successful side in the last 15 years.

Football existed before that.

Did he though? I interpret it as more of a "The sun rises in the East" kinda tone signifying that's it's the truth historically and in general.

If we compare the 2 sides recently, after the Xavi Iniesta Ramos Casillas era(let's say post 2014?), France has been producing better talent than Spain.

So, technically even if you mean right now, presently or last few years France has been producing more talent.

Now days France mostly develop 'next big thing' african players, who flop around the time they get their first big contract outside of France. Now thinking back i can really understand why Deschamps (instead of some champaign football aficionado) was needed and why he could win WC with them, albeit against mediocre opposition.

 Here comes the cockroach with his usual anti-Barca, anti-LL, and now anti-Spain drivel. So predictable.

France has 2 WC titles and 2 Euro titles. Spain has 1 WC title and 3 Euro titles. Spain hit a higher international peak compared to France, though.

No issues with arguing that France has been the slightly superior footballing nation but Spain being midgets compared to France - lol

Brazil and Germany are tier 1

Argentina and Italy are tier 2 (Remember, 2 of Italy's WC are before WW2; they count about as much as Uruguay's 2)

France and Spain are tier 3

England, Portugal, Uruguay (maybe), and Holland are tier 4

France have produced much much more talent than Spain before and after their golden era. The amount of high profile talent produced dwarfs that of Spain in those eras.

Aren't you the same guy who went on and on about Barca superior to Bayern because of the insane amount of historic superstars that played for Barca? Well then keep a similar energy here.

But you won't since the Spain loving Yank in you is a walking contradiction who steps on himself at every point without realising so.

Also, I clearly mentioned that during Spain's recent golden era they were by far the best International side around so there's no bias from me. I absolutely despise the French League and prefer the Spanish League over it anyday. No affinity to France or French players unlike you who has a Zidane Avatar and loves Benzema BTW.....
