Lets seeif Psg are willing to get extremely petty with Madrid like they did with barca after the verrati saga. Sell mbappe now to another club or bech him for a year?

Looks like they will do just that. Left out of the squad traveling to Japan and apparently they have made it clear that all players who are left out are not part of the club's future plans.

Leaving him out of the tour to Japan isn't the same as benching him once the season starts. They are just doing everything to force him to join Madrid or any other team for a fee. If that doesn't happen and once the new season starts, they will play him. Guaranteed.

They have nothing to lose. Guaranteed Ligue 1 winner even without him, guaranteed CL bottler even with him...
What he is trying to pull on them is far worse. Matter of pride for them and not only that.

I don't wanna take a stand in favor of the Qatari brutes, but a limit has to be set on the aggressively growing player power (enhanced by the agent lobbying) nowadays.
Mbape (and many other players nowadays) thinks he can have his pie and eat it too.
Time to learn a lesson

We will see. I think they will bench him until he uses that option to renew for one year out of sheer desperation. Missing out on a whole season that would probably be another 30-40 goals for a guy that is obsessed about goals and records in a career where you never know when it’s over will play right into their hands. Bet RM will come to the rescue before it gets to that point, tho. 70-80M and they might let him go and be done with it.

It's a lot of money he'll have to give up to join Madrid now. Maybe he can strike a deal with the Qataris to receive at least a smaller part of the bonus if he leaves this summer.

He's not trying to pull anything. He's well within his rights to not extend and that's all he communicated. They're trying to stop him leaving and will want to give selves time to do so by any means necessary.

Also - way too many are treating this as a bog standard "can't keep a player against his will" matter. Qatari are prideful. They want to avoid project failure by any means. I've seen nothing that indicates they are even considering a sale ahead of contract expiry
