Levante keeping things alive anyway.

Wouldn't want them relegated before Atletico arrive.

1-0 at halftime v Bilbao.

I'm watching a bit of Levante and Bilbao. As good as Levante have been today, Bilbao have been pretty shit since going out of Europe/Aduriz injury. Not surprised with this result at all.

Yeah, they're gone. They've got Malaga away who have been in good form, Atleti at home, and Rayo away. They're 3 off it now. They've been much better in 2016, and I'm sure guys like Camarasa, Morales, Rossi, Cuero will all find good moves, but their time has come.

Gameiro has just put Sevilla 1-0 up. 25th goal of the year, in a fairly poor Sevilla side. And people act like he's a bum!

He has 16 league goals and 4 are penalties which he wont take here. One of the least impressive strikers Sevilla has had in a while but we have people acting like its him or nothing. Which sounds a lot like this time last year when Vidal was the new Cafu after all of 9 games as a right back.

No one was acting like Vidal was the next Cafu, it was obvious Dani was still our starting fullback.

And why is disqualifying his goals in other competitions a valid point? The guy wasn't even first choice striker for parts of the year, particularly at the start Llorente was. I'm not acting like it's him or nothing either, but he's clearly a decent one.

Again, Sevilla have had a real rocky year, their squad has been blighted with injuries, and even then there's no team that rotates as much as them. If you're naming their best 11, other than Krychowiak, it's really hard to pick. You would say guys like Konoplyanka and Banega are among their best, but even they are rotated the whole time.

25 goals for a team that have largely packed in the league to focus on cups is very impressive.

They were though, that was when Alves was still leaving and Vidal had some good games against Fiorentina. I used league goals because the players in worse teams who have outscored him like Ruben Castro, Lucas Perez or Borja haven't played in other competitions and you have to remember that Sevilla under Emery is a team that makes deep cup runs above all else. He has had a good season but the main thing is 20 million is a hefty sum for a player that is shorter and smaller than Villa but doesn't carry the individual brilliance to compensate for it. His age is the obvious other concerning factor when so much of the rest of the squad is approaching the wrong side of 30. Do you trust people who can't even secure a decent shirt sponsor to rebuild a stadium to the tune of 600 million while also simultaneously doing the same to the squad when 2018 rolls around? Something will have to be sacrificed and if it comes down to it they will likely freeze spending on the squad in favor of completing the stadium. So we can win next year with Gameiro and Godin type signings but be prepared for some stagnation that cant be addressed for a while after that.

Doesn't feel like long ago that Valencia was a couple of points from the relegation zone. Now they're 8th.

Pako Ayestaran getting them to play better.

Even got a dud like Abdennour to not mess up regularly lately.
