What's this screen meant to indicate Villarrubi?

For me Benzema is in front of the Betis defender, that’s why they haven’t put a line down from the Betis player’s knee. If he was behind or in line they’d have shown that. They’re saying he’s onside due to Carvajal being in front of Benzema, yet the line down they’ve used is from the ball and not his foot. If you move that line back slightly with a line down from his foot you’d find Benz is more than likely offside. That’s my take on it.

Actually on second look it’s even worse, look where the dotted line starts at the top on Carvajal. It’s not connected to any part of the ball never mind himself. Compare it to the dotted line from Betis players knee.

 True.

They put the blue line on the ball implying it was a back pass. But they put it ahead of the ball. There is no line on the Betis player, meaning they sold it as a back-pass (implying Benzema is behind the ball).

Exactly. Spot on. But look even closer at where the blue dotted line starts. It’s in fucking mid air, not even connected to the ball (which is wrong anyway) should be end of Carvajal’s boot.

 Yea, I mean, how the fuck is this possible? Now they're doctoring the graphics?

It's pretty clearly drawn from the Betis player knee. Which is way over the line.

Dots on the bottom don't indicate they counted from that position. It's just there as a guide

Not sure but I’d love to hear Wolfe’s explanation of how it’s perfectly fine.

Btw something like VAR which is meant to be so accurate, this isn’t a mistake, they know putting a dotted line down from Carvajal’s boot would skew the line and show Benz to be offside. No coincidence.

Now it figures why they waited so long. They hand constructed the confirmation image to show what needed to be shown.

Dots don't indicate position from which they count the reference point to measure offside position.

Carvajal's boot is irrelevant. Far behind the Betis player

It isn’t. If the Betis player was playing him onside there would be no reason whatsoever to show the dotted line on Carvajal, think about it. It wouldn’t matter where Carvajal was. The dotted line would be down from Betis players knee if it was him playing him onside.

Stop it. The dotted lines indicate the reference points upon which the decision is reached. It's been like this since forever. They made it appear it was a back pass from Carvajal to Benzema, and got caught tempering with the confirmation image.

If you draw a line from Betis' player knee all the way down, Benzema is offside I reckon.
