Modric was voted as the Flop of the season in 12/13 and now 7 years later look how he has developed. He was (with Ronaldo) the best man in 4Cl's of Real madrid and the only year when they didnt won was the year when Modric was injured. He is on the same level with Iniesta and Xavi.

He is not. Even older Iniesta outplayed Modric in Clasicos. Peak Xavi and Iniesta are a level above. Kroos is closer to Modric than Modric is to those two.

I`ll always be convinced we would have won the league in 14/15 if Modric didnt get that long-term injury.
We dropped noticably in performance when he went out.

You forgot Ramos.

For me, I would put Modric below Iniesta and Xavi, but that's no discredit to Modric. Iniesta and Xavi are considered, at the very least, one of the GOATS in their respective positions.

Xavi was great and undoubtly had a very high peak, but both Iniesta and Modric kept it up longer than him i think, wasn`t he washed up at this level when he was 34-35?

Sure, and the reason is performances at their peak. These guys smashed the opposition. Modric never dominated to this degree. Games like the 5-0 and 6-2 clasicos are masterpieces in midfield game. Modric never showed this level of mastery, while also a world-class player no doubt for much of his time at Madrid.

Longevity-wise, Modric is in the same league no doubt. Peak level wise? A level under.

Modric is pretty washed up at the highest level though. City outplayed Madrid easily last season, and they're CL underachievers.

Villarato!
Benzema is fucking infuriating. 3 decent moves and then on the counter he just waits for the ball to roll to him allowing Atleti to reset. Massive knob

Xavi was 35 when we won the treble in 2015. He was was very good that season as well.

Xavi was pretty much a non-factor, dont mistake individual performances with trophies.
Xavi started his decline around 2013, and started being phased out by 2014.

Yea, was very good, but we needed legs in the midfield more because the team had an explosive trio.

Not playing fair here. Modric wasn't declined when De Jong played with your midfield with Ajax smashing you 4-1 at home 2 years ago?

Did i ever say he hasn`t declined? He just hasn`t declined as much as Xavi at the same age, there is a noticable difference between the two at 34-35 years of age imo.

Not true. He was usually the first sub off the bench and had 44 apps that season.

He played great and the club tried to get him to sign a 1-2 year extension but he declined.

Don't think it is that much. If you had an attack of Messi, Neymar, and Suarez, Valverde would start regularly, and Modric would be a squad player just like Xavi was back then for us.
