08/09 is the mentally strongest Barca there's been and had both physicality/size and technical wizardry.
Leaders everywhere. Puyol, Xavi, Alves, Marquez, Eto'o, Henry, Toure etc. wouldn't back down from a fight. Then you have Messi, Iniesta, Busquets (he wasn't a mummy back then), Pique, Abidal, Sylvinho, Pedro etc etc.
We handled a strong United team without much difficulty in the final. Demolished Bayern. Barely squeaked past a strong Chelsea. Every season has that 1 eh/blip moment.
RM 16/17 struggled big time versus Bayern (it was 4-4 before Bayern were sent to 10 men). Struggled v AM. Destroyed Juve though but I think United 08-09 > Juve 16-17.
There's only 5 of those in world football right now.
Pep, Klopp, Carlo, Tuchel, Conte
With the first 3 being historically great
True, but imo, only Pep and Klopp are great of that list.
Carlo would've been done by the squad imo, just as EV. He is like the better version of EV, but the team flaws that did EV, they could have done Ancelotti too. It's close, and we could have won the CL with Ancelotti instead of EV, but it's not sure thing.
Just remember Ancelotti Madrid from 3-1, to 3-4 vs Chelsea, basically out of it with 10 mins left or so in the tie. You really see Barca players fighting back and turning that? Imagine Alba and Busi, and Stegen at 0-3 at home vs Chelsea. 0-4 comes soon. No way they score 2 and concede 0 from that point to push through.
