The main thing for me is the amount of attempts he gets every game.

Yes, he produces some magic moments, but how many times is he getting the ball and losing it on the flip side? There are a lot of games where all he does is lose the ball and kills attacks but gets an assist and people are like, ok, what a game by Vinicius Jr.

In a team like City his gameplay wouldn't be acceptable.
Yeah you're right. Loses ball and first thing he does is go to ground fishing for a foul even though was all on himself.

We will find out this season ;)
Vini is a solid player, just that he is getting a bit overrated. Since last season have stopped seeing madrid fans criticize at times when he is wasting the ball. Either on the run or a shot. But how much has his finishing really improved since his first/2nd season really? During that season he did get criticized by own fans.
I guess he built some credit with that CL win.

Been very lackluster for Brazil as well.

Has any other winger got close to Vinicius' goal + assists numbers in La Liga last season? He's not overrated at all. Only Mbappe is a better wing player.

Weird state of football if this is truly 2nd best winger currently.

Vinicius is oddly not great vs smaller teams, not focused enough, but on the big occasions, he smashes it.

Last season he was didnt do much v the top teams in league.

1 assist v Barca/Atletico and dont think he did anything v Sociedad and got 1 goal v Villareal.

That is top 4 teams he could play.

Last season he smashed the poorer team in league really if anything.

Raphinha did get fairly close to be fair.
Yeah, but he needs those 20-25 goals + assists. And Vinicius also offers more than Raphinha in other uncountables because he is double-marked more, draws more fouls, etc.

That's before getting into top goals in CL.

Vinicius also gets to play a role where he can 'cheat' and be almost highest up park for Real and daring other team to leave space for him.

He is a wide forward with little defensive duties as much as a winger really.

Looks much worse for Brazil when plays as a winger.

Interesting to see how they fit in Mbappe to that.

Said during preseason we need to move ball around at higher tempo. Real is thus fast they cut our passes or are immediately there to put pressure on receiving player. We need gundo to bring composure to midfield.
