Gerard Romero saying we won't have depay for sociedad

Sport is suggesting otherwise:
Barcelona are working to register Memphis Depay in the coming hours and believe he will be able to start against Real Sociedad. Club executives are working with La Liga on this topic and they are convinced that he can play even if there are no exits this week, which at the moment looks likely. Ronald Koeman is informed of developments and is counting on the Dutchman for the league opener.

The club think that the way Memphis’s contract works could help him be registered. He gets more in bonuses and incentives than in fixed salary. The player understands the situation and is calm.

Another thing is Kun Aguero and Eric Garcia, but the former is injured and the latter will need rest after the Olympics.

I don't buy it. We've had months to register him with the same financial situation we have now. Unless something has changed financially since he signed, or for some reason we just delayed his registration till 4 days before our first LaLiga game, then he won't be registered unless Tebas budges

Seems perfectly natural that intrest, attendance and fanbase will drop considerably in the next 1-2 years. Barca's current fanbase or most of it, is due to the success they had in the past 15 years and the marketing leveraging that. Given the past 4 years and now this shit storm with Messi..not much marketing potential...mes que un club indeed, mes que un fuck up...so they rip what they saw. No fans, no intrest, no results, good luck with that not spiraling down

pandemic is also a major hit for a club who had many tourists visiting the stadium every game.

Phasing Messi out would have been the ideal approach for two reasons:

1- will give us enough time to breathe instead of letting us suddenly address our issues on and off the pitch.
2- his gradual decline was going to help us adjust to his departure properly

1. Not clear: sometimes it's better to just see who can swim
2. Messi would be the best scorer+assister for as long as he continued playing. It would be tough to know when and how to phase him out.

It's a disaster with Messi, but I'm not sure about these points.

Could see a 4-1-2-1-2 like this...

Neto
Dest-Araujo-Pique-Alba
Busi
Pedri-Roberto
Demir
Griezmann-Braithwaite

My lineup :
Neto
Dest-Araujo-Pique*-Alba
------Busi------
Pedri-------Roberto
Demir Manaj* Griezmann

I think we should stick with the 4-3-3 for Sociedad even if we don't have many resources for it as in preseason it was clicking well, the 3-5-2 looked garbage.

*Could change pending registrations but unlikely

De Jong is injured as well? FFS, we're starting the season with half the first 11 injured or not registered.
