I remember almost the same situation before 22-23.

The expectations before both 22-23, and this season is competing for the league title vs Madrid with the expectations that Madrid are favorites.

For me it would be far far more impressive for Flick to achieve what Xavid didn't domestically. Back to back titles.
I think nobody expected Mbappe to be this disappointing frankly. That is one reason the title looks far more achievable.

On paper, their squad is better, but I agree we also have fighting chances to win and I always said that over the last 2 years that we have the talent to compete for the title every year.

The other thing to consider with Xavi vs Flick is their longevity, we will see it, Xavi ran out of road at the end of his tenure and he clearly was out of gas after 2.5 years, things would not have improved with time imo. If Flick can be a manager for the long term and we stay winning for several years that will be another thing that makes him better.

You're welcome
Yea, they also need to admit they were wrong about him as well.

It's funny because they were primarily convinced by one loud voice on here about all these things.

They act like all of this came out of thin air and nothing came before it.

It's great but work was laid down by Laporta and Xavi no matter how much they refuse to admit it.
Do I still get credit for praising Laporta even when I had that moment of weakness where I had to ask forum if I was still right to do so?

Spot on. Repeating back to back good seasons is hardest thing to do. Players are likely to mentally check out. If that happens, we can kiss our perfect offside line goodbye.

But let's enjoy the current season and we'll cross that bridge when we hopefully get to it.

And another one. This has been the most mismatched derby in world football the last 15 years. Only Celtic's domination over Rangers comes close.

Yes, they had the upped hand when Barca was basically struggling to stay afloat, but when both teams are stable, there is only one winner.

To still see Barca fans here in awe of them and scared is hilarious. Where this low self esteem comes from I will never know. Barca is miles better and will win this La Liga title at a canter.

You even missed quite a few. There's 3 0-4s on Bernabeu. This one, Xavi's in 2022, Enrique's in 2016. There's 2 0-3s also under EV. One in the league, and one in Copa.
He'd need a 50 inch phone or monitor to fit them all in his avatar the way it's been going since 2008 or 2009.

6-2 (Bernabeu)
5-0
5-1
4-0 (Bernabeu)
4-0 (Bernabeu)
4-0 (Bernabeu)
3-0 (Bernabeu)
3-0 (Bernabeu)

And then a couple of famous 4-3 and 3-2 wins, both at Bernabeu. And then a whole bunch of other wins

Basically, have adopted these lot like they've adopted Bayern and Liverpool.

Xavi did not have the same squad and options... let's be honest here. Yamal alone for example looks like a completely different player. From talented youngster to actual top 10 player in the world. A few months can make a massive difference.

The only player Xavi didn't have is Dani Olmo but he had Gundogan wich Flick doesn't.. Lets be honest here, Xavi will always be Barca legend and legendary player but as a manager, Flick is 3 levels above him.. In just 2 months Barca is miles better than Xavi's Barca was..

In first half we looked tired but suddenly in second half it was like everyone was back to 100%, Real couldnt keep up with these quick tiki taka passes in their half.

Think we can say we're the best team in the world or at least top2 with City, only bad luck (or Araujo) can beat us in cl 💯

It's been explained. Even if most of the players are the same, they are better now than 2-3 years ago simply because they have more games under their belt. For young players like ours, every year is them maturing and gaining much needed experience and confidence in top matches.

It's not only about Xavi, but even that cuck De La Fuente and his work with Spain. It's a reality of time under good managers that achieved titles and pushed the team to compete better and better. Flick is continuing this line of developing and, for me, he has the potential to make the biggest difference with the core he has.

The next step Flick can do and become a great manager for the club is helping these players make the next step in CL and producing back to back great league seasons. Xavi improved the team in CL from not even CL groups level to near CL semis. Flick can push this to even a higher level and surprise everybody by really bringing Barca back into the elite top 2-3 teams. Something Xavi could not do until his implosion.

Somehow, the right managers have been in charge at the right moment. Both for Barcelona, and for Spain. This is the mark of a club that is run great. And Spanish NT gets good a good amount of credit too. All that De La Fuente dude has to do is protect the players more and he's set to go.
