Lautaro Martinez

Yeah originally our interest stems from the fact he?d probably work well with Messi but I don?t think that?s special Messi treatment, it?s just what any team does. You buy players to suit the squad. Lautaro was originally seen as this feisty, high energy, good linkup striker who had power and technique and his early season form suggested he also had the goals to go with it. Based on that form he was a great target. Not so much anymore though but I guess we?re dealing with the most incompetent board in recent memory.

I have said, if there is no Messi influence or attempts to make him happy, then why is a PROVEN connection of 4 members (Koeman-Frenkie-Wijnaldum-Depay) more important than an average connection of only 2 members (Messi-Lautaro)
So, 2 members are more important for team's future and chemistry than 4 members?

Again:
1. either a potential connection with Messi is more important than other connections in our team
2. or one of our technical directors is a total idiot for wanting Lautaro (the same as director Robert and his "amazing" estimation of a future gem Dumbele)

On top of it, it is extremely dumb to build a team around Messi and his happiness.
He is 33 and heavily declining.

That connection already doesn't make any sense.
Are they expecting that Messi will be able to run more than 3 km per match in 12 Months?
Good luck with that and with building a team around a 33 years old.

Too many straw man points to bother replying bbz. Until you stop doing that I won?t be replying. Except to point this out for the pedantic few.

I would like someone to point out one transfer decision that was Messis idea or influence in the last 5 years. Not a rumor, a transfer.

So a little banter in a friendly is proof that Messi wanted him and he requested for this transfer?

Since friendly was in June and transfer happened in August, wouldn't that mean Messi knew that were ongoing negotiations between the club and Paulinho?

The way I see it, Messi knew about the transfer being made and he joked with Paulinho about coming to Barcelona. Don't see this as any proof that Messi had to convince Paulinho about joining or that he demanded the board they sign him.

Grade A bullshit journalism right there, tbf.

60mil and Semedo. Too much

FUCKING IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!! This guy will flop worse than Griezmann! It looks like Barto is forcing Koeman to sign Lautaro & Thiago over Depay & Wijnaldum! We are making exactly the same mistakes once again!!!

BBZ be serious. There is no way Messi is forcing them to buy Lautaro! He was indeed forcing them to bid for Neymar but this is not the case for Lautaro. It's Barto's stupid decision once again! Horror show! I hope Inter won't sell!

it's not as if lautaro + thiago is worse than depay + wijnaldum. just bigger price for the first pair.

It's worse in every possible way. Wijnaldum would suit us better than Thiago with Pjanic already here. Depay can be used on wing and centrally while Lautaro basically has the same problem as Griezmann. He can't play on the wing and his usual role in the team overlaps with Messi and Griezmann! So apart from being more expensive they will add absolutely nothing new!

Lautaro is more of a 9 than Depay is.

Playing with Lukaku at Inter and deeper but he is a 9 that leads the line as best position.

Should not be spending 100m on him but CF is what he is.
