Yeah originally our interest stems from the fact he?d probably work well with Messi but I don?t think that?s special Messi treatment, it?s just what any team does. You buy players to suit the squad. Lautaro was originally seen as this feisty, high energy, good linkup striker who had power and technique and his early season form suggested he also had the goals to go with it. Based on that form he was a great target. Not so much anymore though but I guess we?re dealing with the most incompetent board in recent memory.
I have said, if there is no Messi influence or attempts to make him happy, then why is a PROVEN connection of 4 members (Koeman-Frenkie-Wijnaldum-Depay) more important than an average connection of only 2 members (Messi-Lautaro)
So, 2 members are more important for team's future and chemistry than 4 members?
Again:
1. either a potential connection with Messi is more important than other connections in our team
2. or one of our technical directors is a total idiot for wanting Lautaro (the same as director Robert and his "amazing" estimation of a future gem Dumbele)
On top of it, it is extremely dumb to build a team around Messi and his happiness.
He is 33 and heavily declining.
That connection already doesn't make any sense.
Are they expecting that Messi will be able to run more than 3 km per match in 12 Months?
Good luck with that and with building a team around a 33 years old.
