Lautaro Martinez

we should either get a good 9 or a winger that can score goals.

Suarez - on his last season with us i think. good if he agrees to be a sub as the new 9 becomes the starter
Griezmann - for the money we spent/are spending on him he should score for fun. would get rid this summer
Braithwaite - only good as a fringe player
Dembele - permanently injured and thus useless for us. would get rid this summer
Trincao - an unknown quantity which we can't rely upon

L.Martinez release clause of 111 mil. is only valid for two weeks in July, so Inter have offered him a new deal which doubles his salary and does not include release clause. Barcelona is ready to offer Martinez a five-year deal, with option of two more, worth around 7 mil. euro a season.

Why do inter act like his 111m release clause already isn't double his value and a massive rip off lmao.

No one will ever pay it

So how do you guys rate Lautaro compared to a young Tevez?

I really fail to see 'Taro as the guy that leads our line to be honest even if he is a strong profile match.

For a player supposed to be our new true number 9 his goalscoring stats are quite weak, imo.

His stats doesn't prove that he is a goalscorer of Barca-caliber. On top of that, the goals that he scores are half penalties, headers and counters, which is not exactly what we are looking for. Yes he is a good header for one only 1.74, but should that really count in his favour as a potential barca attacker?

For 40 or 50M€ he would be a good gamble, but the hype and saviour-vibe around him is too much right now. I know most in here knows it, it is probably mostly in the media, among the amigos and in the board that the trouble is.

Agreed. He isn't worth more than 60-70m.

The problem is we will be over-stacked with secondary strikers who are all suitable as 2nd strikers in 2 striker system. So, according to their natural profile, all of Messi, Griezmann, and possibly Lautaro will be at their best behind Suarez in a verson of 4-4-2, either flat or diamond. Basically 3 players we should be looking to make them play together, when in fact, they play on the same singular position, a secondary forward. And it IS NOT the football we should be looking forward to play. It could be a good option until we are ready as a club and institution for more drastic measures. We are, to this day, not ready for a 2008 moment.

Either embrace the 4-4-2 for the time being and accept that we will be a narrow team, with low danger on the wings, or go shop for some actual wingers, who can beat their man with regularity near the sidelines, wingers who aren't named Neymar pls (who's not even a winger these days).

The secondary striker profile is the absolute hardest to fit in the football played today, 4-4-2 was the bread and butter of the 90s and early 00s, but it is very hard to use this system without being great in the air, dominating the box with big strong players, and being able to pose very serious danger from crosses. Messi, Griezmann, Lautaro, too many players who are very hard to fit in proper modern tactics and systems.

Greizmann, Lautaro, don't work very well on the wins or as clear no9s. Messi doesn't work either as a midfielder, or as a winger (doesn't want to play like one), or as a no9. He only works as a no10 which is an outdated position with no real use against the biggest teams.

People focus on the wrong things imo. Fullbacks, or midfield aren't an issue. Just add a 3rd midfielder and focus on the offense. This is the weak point. The offensive setup we have may be enough to regularly beat the La Liga teams, because we have so much talent other teams don't have, but when we're up against teams who are equally stacked with talented players, they just beat us because they are more fit and more organized than us.

The SS as Winger's trend is going as well as trying to convert #10s/Wide Midfielders into CM's.

Trying to play some 4D chess when it's failing.

Was looking at videos of Fabiano and Kanoute. Those two were twice as good as this overrated featherweight. In today's market guys like Fabiano would be worth at least 125 million.
It's absurd that there are no good number nines out there.
