Both his covid stuff at Bayern and his distasterclass NT stint are probably outliers though. His actual level is unknown. He didn't manage any team that wasn't in some unique position.

Half the ones on that list are quite defensive-minded, no? More like the next Simeone or the next Mourinho than the other way around. And that's if they turn out amazing. Style is also very important at Barcelona. At this club you get criticized if you churn out 1-0 pagmatic wins too often.

Flick didn’t do well with Germany but he’s not an outlier there. They got grouped with Loew who previously won them the World Cup and Nagelsmann’s start hasn’t been any better.

They just have a poor generation of players currently.

I do agree that it’s difficult to really judge him in club football but his Bayern team were very good. Scored goals for fun.

Super small margin. He left Bayern very quickly. Managed them great for like half a season in effect. During COVID. German teams came back the earliest from lockdowns. Even Leipzig made semis in CL that season.

Like Amorim but he has only coached Sporting Lissabon, hasnt he? Also a big risk, would rather go with De Zerbi who coached in a way stronger league if we dont get Hansiii

They were fantastic in 20/21 too, i know they lost to PSG in the QF but they should've beaten them by a landslide when they lost 2-3.

But yeah it is only 1.5 seasons of evidence and a poor NT stint.

This guy needs to go right now. He can't organize a defense to save his life and that's been our undoing this season.

Last chance for Laporta to sack Xavi tonight/tomorrow and spare us a total humiliation against Napoli already...basically any interim manager would do better at this point, at least they'd have something to prove. And maybe, just maybe we'd have a chance of advancing at least to the quarters, which wouldn't be a disaster, come the end of the season.
