Expected result but Bologna won 3-0 earlier today cementing 4th position for the time being in Serie A. If things continue they may even grab 3rd ahead of Juventus.

I think we have to be seriously considering Motta now, but after Xavi has brought in the youth players we absolutely need a coach who will know how to bring this group to it's potential. And I don't know if Motta is that guy.

It's a similar situation to when Rijkaard left and we had the guy who gave the trust and initiations to Messi, Iniesta (well he debut under VG but Rijkaard worked with him more) and now we need that Pep level guy to take this youthful ability and add nuance and understanding to the ability.

Motta may very well be excellent at developing what we have and be the best choice. That will depend on his conversations with Deco, while Flick has also stated a youth orientated approach.

Motta has brought the best out of alot of midrange players this season like Zirkzee and Ferguson, and a few of them will probably get sold for good fees. He has also made a few young players explode (Fabbian and Calafiori) but obviously nothing like the 16/17 year olds he will have to work with here.

I'm just making a comparison of how we can move from someone like Rijkaard (Xavi) to Pep (???).

But I think that if we make the CL semi that all media talks will shift towards Xavi staying.

Thiago Motta you can forget about, there is bad blood between Motta and Laporta since way back when.

According to the then vice president, Motta left Barcelona after confronting Laporta, he was basically kicked out due to poor professionalism.

Any reason cited why Laporta and Deco circus crossed Nagelsmann and De Zerbi out of the list?

Xavi ruled out staying and I respect he did clear that out as just a week ago Laporta was blabbing about his potential stay.

Kinda starting to like Xavi's new-found balls and back against the wall attitude.

In the old Barcelona documentary that released after Laporta's first season here, there is a tidbit when Motta agent went to Txiki for a renewal. I suspect that was the extent of the issue.

One is a midtable manager and the other has a weak jawline.

Seriously though, the MD article mentioned because of the high buyout clause in regards to Zerbi, and Nagelsmann something silly like lack of experience.

Not only did Motta completely lack any professionalism, he also trash talked Laporta when he signed for Atletico. Calling Laporta a dishonest coward. Motta also accused Laporta being the reason for Ronaldinhos decline and openly suggested Ronaldinho should leave the club.

This forum is so reactionary.

A couple of good results and good PR by Xavi and Laporta and before you know people are back on the Xavi hype train.
The only flawless managers are Pep and Klopp, and neither is available.

Rest go up and down as their recent results go, with some of them (Ancelotti, Tuchel, Simeone etc.) afforded more leeway because they've proven themselves over a decade plus.
