read again. I said he could have privately informed the club before june 10 (on paper) that he was exercising the option to leave. i never said he made anything public.

He could have informed them or asked for an extension to the clause.

Even if informs them of that it is not binding and and can change his mind.

Was it really buy-out clause or bust for Barto?
I mean, if we can get 100 million for Ronaldo at the same age(at the time), surely City, of all teams, can cough up the same for Messi?

Messi was absolutely right, this organization is a complete sh!tshow and their inability to offload a disgruntled Messi is another example of that.

With Barto you never know the shadiness behind his decisions. It's entirely possible that the amount of money he's getting from sponsors and perhaps some shady backend deals that rely on Messi is a lot more than what City could cough up.

He rarely gives serious replies and only comes to troll against people that have any doubts on Messi. Just let him be.

doubt is one thing. trashing messi week in week out for stuff he isn't responsible for, well that's another thing. but hey, if you can write shit, everybody can. so i guess we're all trolls in here.

At least he's going to break Pele's record.

On the other hand , it's like the doctor giving you the news that you're going to die 100% in 2 weeks. You go through all stages of denial , prepare your funeral , you finally come to accepting your own death and then the doctor says you won't die after all.

SMH just give me the gun to end it all.

Isn't he like 3 years late for saying this? The president/Board will be gone in matter of months if not before.

It's still better to be upfront about what exactly is the reason for wanting him to leave. And he did that in this interview by saying the president is incompetent and has no idea what he is doing on the sporting side.

Generally, I believe players and coaches shouldn't be too quick to criticize management because you have to trust them in their scouting of players.

And Messi still gave the benefit of the doubt to this board for 2 years after things really started to unravel in 2017. Last year was when he finally decided that he wanted to leave following the conclusion of this season.

And that was likely because he saw the board's genius idea to improve this team after 2 disastrous CL defeats was to sign Griezmann who doesn't really fit.

Should fit much better once Messi leaves.

It already is. Bartomeu is so spineless. Messi puts in a transfer request and missing training for a week and we're just going to forget everything that has happened. Not to mention, he just did public interview throwing shit at the board and basically saying our team is shit and not good enough to win anything.

I wonder if Koeman has the balls to take away Messi's captaincy and bench him if they fall out.
