Lionel Messi - v7

You went too far here. Messi can still play really well, even his 2019 level, in Serie A. La Liga is just too fast now and imo maybe just a hair below EPL. It's crazy how underrated our league is.

I recommend you go watch some Serie A matches. It's like half the pace of la liga. He would do amazing there. No wonder we schooled Juve

Ligue 1 or Serie A.

Messi had a decent game. (6+ : 4,5 the first half, 7,5 the second).
Barca miss his ability to finish (he'll come back when he mentally unlocks), but the main problem for Koeman is being able to put together a team that is a strange mash up of veterans and very young talent. Not easy. It will be a transition year in which we will have to be good at capitalizing as much as possible and maintaining cohesion

When will it come back? I'm waiting since June if not February. It is November. This has never happened with him, he's declining. Should be his last year here.

If you watched this game and think Messi had a decent game (6+ WTF?)
you don't have the capacity to judge when it comes to anything related to Messi.
You are just utterly biased

When users like you type posts like this, do you remember the age of Messi? You are typing this as though Messi is 28 having a bad form and only a matter of time before he gets back to scoring hattricks for fun. He is old, not some super freak athlete like CR, and on top of that I'm sure deep down he wanted to play under Pep this season.

Completely different scenario than some "lack of form"

Ligue 1 is an extremely physical league. And nobody would care if he'd win a title with PSG.

?? Maybe more physical than LL but it's no EPL.

He'd handle the French and Italian farmers just fine. EPL and LL are too much for him these days, unless he rests more/plays smarter.

Exactly. Fuck, if he was 28 in the next game I'd expect a hattrick and things would be back to normal .

He is finished on the European level. The best move for him is back to Argentina or MLS.
He has not scored from open play in like 14 games?!
He doesn't even look like he can score nowadays.
His legacy is still intact. No need to spoil it by going to a major European club.

Let's be fair here. If Koeman had pre-corona Messi in the last 6 La Liga games we would have probably won all of them. After Corona break this spring his form disappeared and hasn't returned since.

Finished isn't the right word imo

He still has moments of magic just alot less reliable and efficent these days. You just can't build a team around him anymore and you cannot justify his wages at 34.

Barto could of done us a huge favour allowing him to leave. the team would move on as would the fans and club but now we'll probably have that ass kisser Font beg him to sign a new contract. Haaland? Mbappe? no, Messi signing a new improved contract will be the presidential promise

the scenario is that of a player who last year was the pichichi and this year is unable to unlock. No one is saying that a player at 28 is equal to 33.
But Today, for example, he took the post and had a shot saved by a miraculous intervention of the Alaves goal keeper

The big question mark is if Laporta will also run the same type of campaign? He is a lot smarter on the sporting front, I'm sure he sees the writing on the wall. There's no chance his campaign would try to get Messi to resign. He was the first to clean up that 2006 squad too.
