Lionel Messi - v7

it was touching to see Buffon and Messi exchange shirts after the game. Buffon got the upper hand today, amazing agility for his age. Messi tried hard but could not defeat Buffon. Nobody can accuse Messi today of being lazy - no Bar?a player (except maybe FDJ) worked harder and with more heart.

Sane has been very underwhelming at Bayern since he recovered from his injury, very patchy to say the least. I wouldn't take him over Messi at all.

You wouldn't take 25 years old Sane over 34 years old Messi? I would in a heartbeat. 9 years is a tremendous difference. It's 2 football cycles.

Even if we make a new team in 2 seasons which would be a tremendous achievement, considering the club's finances, Messi would be almost 36. He'd be finished at a top-level. If now it's debatable if he's finished for good at the highest level, in 2 years he'll be done.

That was the argument. I said Bayern would not swap Muller and what he brought to team last season for Messi.

When it was argued Messi could play 'the Mulller role'.

But some fanboys cant see past it and just shout 'best in world!'

I would even take Mane, Son, Mbappe over Messi right now (Messi was out of this world for a while when at his peak, but everything has an end)

the probelm is he dont have the brain to play where he wants to play, never had, he tries to dribble all players just to stop the flow of the teamplay, its ridiculous...he is doing what neymar did back then in his last season...

This result could be a blessing in disguise if it motivates him to leave in January. He could still salvage his season with a winter transfer.

He had a decent game and even looked motivated for large parts. He's lost power and accuracy in his shooting though, not just a bit but a lot, it's strange to see. He used to hit those bottom corners like it was nothing.
