Lionel Messi - v7

The sadest thing of all is that this will be the worst last season and farewell of any club legend in the world with 0 trophies, lots of bitterness and unfulfilled dreams. Seriously, can anyone imagine Messi standing there at the Camp Nou forcing himself to smile and thank the fans after all what has happened and he has nothing to show for?

Unlikely fans to make that happen but the pitch would be littered with every trophy he has won and his Golden bas etc.

Does it matter?
He's done more for a club than any other player in history, Di Stefano being the only contender i can think of, his legacy is untouchable regardless.

You are not out of the cup yet, btw.

The closed doors rule due to the pandemic could be a major factor in Messi's decision. The way it seems COVID-19 is here to stay for a long time. A testimonial match under these circumstances... ah, I don't even want to imagine that.

He started to drop deep in 2014, stopped in 2015 and continued from 2016.

He was dropping deep surrounded by Busi, Xavi, Iniesta, Fab and continued in 2016 with Iniesta and Busi.

What he wants exactly?
6 Xavis in midfield?

He drops deep because he wants to.
He drops deep because he wants to be involved all the time.
He drops deep because he wants spotlights on him.

It's not because of Pedri, Raki, Arthur, Vidal or anyone.

Messi does what he wants, when he wants, how he wants.

He brought glory, we gave him pharaoh's status in return.
He got used to that on field, off field and financial status and there is no way back now.

You can't teach a 34 years old horse new tricks or change his behavior.

You have no credibility whatsoever since you were conveniently absent all the previous weeks in which Messi was playing well and the team was getting results. Jumping back in whenever the situation suits your position is disingenuous and dishonest. You have no shame.

Obviously. But this doesn't mean it can't work. He did win 10 La Ligas in 15 years. Which is astonishing in a league like La Liga. If we had a better team, Messi would still be decisive in a La Liga title win. Even today, while slower and less efficient at scoring.

But yea, we gave him pharaonic status, which is on the board more than Messi. When you are given everything you ask, no matter how much, it's hard not to take it .

I think 10 LL in 15 years is by far Messi's best achievement. Considering only 3 of them came under a tier 1 coach like Guardiola.

2 with EV and 1 with Tito/Roura is a pretty amazing achievement considering 2 of these 3 were against a CR7 led RM.

He picks up the ball deep because he thinks it's the best way to win, Messi is the furthest thing from an ego player

10 in 15 are very good but it could have been atleast 2 more as in 13/14 Messi scored a regular goal in the last match against Atletico which would have won us the title and in or 19/20 Real was weak, a normal would have easily won it.

With no corrupt refs we win them all. We been greatly robbed those 3 years Madrid won it and like you said the match vs Atletico.

Yea, no doubt. In close season the refs fucked us over. In that close one we had like two games where we lost points because fucking refs couldn't see the ball was well over the line twice. We're not even talking about close decisions like maybe a pen not given or something like that. Or vs Villareal where one player just blocked a shot intentionally with his hand. So many games where refs fucked us.

We could've easily gone something like 12 in 15 with fair refereeing. That's Bayern in Bundesliga level domination. Except we're not talking about Dortmund and Wolfsburg, but fucking Real Madrid and Atletico.
