Lionel Messi - v7

Messi is probably the worst outfield player at this lol.

He presses when he needs to and he showed everything he needed to against Paris.

Everyone keep in mind that these stats are probably weighted heavily due to the total amount of minutes these guys have in the Champions League and how high of a sample they have compared to other players having played more over the years.

He basically showed that it's all about how good he is feeling/his interest how many goals he puts up (granted there were other factors too at the beginning of the season with our team still getting used to the formations/new players).

Can easily play 2-3 more seasons after this at Barca at 30 plus goals IMO. We really need to sign Haaland and a CB because I think we can make a serious push for CL next season when Bayern will likely be on the wane.

Genuinely feel he could score more too. He’s making a lot of his goals by himself out of nothing, not many runs into the box or players setting him up with easy assists etc. One thing what’s improved dramatically from start of season is his shooting. Earlier on it felt like he’d lost all his power in his shots, nearly every shot was weak and I criticised him for that but now he’s firing in rockets like PSG goal etc.

Like you said with a world class CF like Haaland playing off him could be dangerous. New CB is key too.

Not everyone on here is like this though, to be fair.

This is why you should never question this dude or say he is finished until he says it himself. I only did this once back in 2014 and then Bayern happened.

Last few months have proven just how crazy Barto was for trying to drive him out and is yet another example on why you never doubt the GOAT :redbeard::redbeard:

This is bullshit.

Barton did everything possible to keep Messi including that monster contract, and refusing to sell him no matter what.

It's one of the few things I commended Barto for staying firm and telling Messi he can't leave

Depends on how his mood is. Sometimes he does do his part, sometimes he slacks off and doesn't. But I don't agree he generally does everything a player in his position should do off the ball. He doesn't IMO, and others need to compensate for that more often than not.

Whether or not this is still a "working" model, considering Messi's age, is highly debatable.

What a fans forum this is , last few weeks he was finished and everybody wanted rid of him. Hope he moves on , these supposed fans dont deserve him.

What a gross overgeneralization, man. It's like you're doing this on purpose. Not "everybody" wanted to get rid of him, there were people who defended him (I would say the majority) and those who criticized, like me. If you could stop thinking the "forum" is one entity with a uniform opinion, you would realize that the people who defended Messi are more vocal in this thread now that Messi is in great form, feeling validated, while those who criticized him have fewer reasons to do so now that Messi has turned up.

the video Barca released of former and current teammates congratulating leo for matching xavis record was really sweet. so nice to see old faces. pedro

Thanks, OG! Some unexpected appearances there in the video like Neymar and Suarez. I guess the bad blood with the club is gone with Barto.

Yeah, I really wasn't expecting to see Luis, lol. Man, I miss Pedro. One of my all-time favourites. His work-rate and dedication were top notch.

Wow why does anyone take the shit I say seriously

No one does since he's been exposed countless of times . I also think 90% of the forum consideres him shameless and without honor since he's not a man of his word , attacks legends of the club and makes excuses when said legends do great.

on the other hand 10% enjoy his trolls for whatever reason.

You'll figure it out

Shameless as usual.

1) Eager to jump at other people for their takes about La Masia

2) Actively root for scrubs like Coutinho and Raki because they are your "boys" and trash Messi

3) Got served a fresh serving of humble pie after your "Messi is the worst attacker in all top 5 leagues" take in September

4) Now changing topic to CL and WC. When said player has already had plenty of CL success.
