Precisely right. We had a unique generation racking up La Ligas as if they were nothing. Now that the level has dropped, we already see a re-valuing of how important winning the league is.
It's basically the old saying that you always cherish and long for what you don't have. Now that we don't have either La Liga dominance and CL potential, I can already see users placing far more importance on winning the League.
Basically we've been spoiled to no end in the last 10-15 years.

I've been saying it myself since years man. EV had a team to be more competitive in Europe though, that's the beef people had with him. And his playing style, which was ugly and boring for my taste. And the dumb stuff he said to deny the problems in the team.

it's hypocrisy because neither him or club are indebted to each other. so you and me, can't really tell them what they should do or not. we may wish/dream for some things, but it doesn't mean it will go the way we like/want.
messi can do what he wants. the club will be the one that will deem his demands acceptable or not.
