If folks want to pin an horror show performance on Messi then this is your opportunity. He'd have been better rested as he literally did fuck all in this game. Least it's out the way I guess.

Horror show? Did he gift Villareal a penalty? Did he miss some easy chance? Did he receive a red? Did he break our attacking play? Guess the answer is No.

He was the team's playmaker and played deeper than usual. Always dragged Villareal players with him, which gave space to others. Got a player sent off.

Some of you muppets only want to see goals or assists, otherwise it is a horrible performance

I guess the red was clear as he had his studs on Messis planted ankle, but it really mostly showed Messis bad form today. Trigueros got the ball "half a second" earlier, and Messi was too late to react and get away.

Must be very tough for Messi to carry this team as he does, he had a great game last game but can't really play like that three times a week anymore.

Definite red but Trigueros was a bit unlucky and was not trying to do Messi there. Just lifting foot as following through and expecting contact.
