this comes down to PSG having more money.

Members only ownership can not fuck with rich oil tycoons.

regardless how hard Laporta looks for loose change under the couch.

True.

Losing matchday revenue is not a problem for PSG. Qatar has so much money it doesn't matter.

Imagine the amount they offered to Neymar both under and over the table to stay.

No doubt they would be willing to keep Leo on his 100m/yr wages, whereas we may not even be able to afford 50m. Having Messi and Neymar for the 2022 World Cup would be huge.

It will come down to what Leo chooses in the end. Family and loyalty or money and likely the better sporting project in the short term at least.

Significantly more money at PSG + much better chance at least on paper to win UCL compare to staying at Barca = probably easy decision for Messi himself to overcome the loyalty problem

besides, Messi's got tons of Amigos at PSG. He often walks alone these days on the Barca practice pitch even after the Covid lunch get together at his house.

Messi 3 son's might be the only things holding him from switching.

Can't imagine it will be too difficult to convince his wife to stay at Paris for 2-3 years for tons of more money.

Not to mention Barca, RM and Juventus's nasty fights with UEFA over ESL and UCL.

The whole backline, Midfield, Suarez all shat the bed and Dembele missing that chance at the Camp Nou. But I'm not sure that goal would have really mattered in the end, because that Anfield game was just bad man.

What I hate is that it isn't just the Anfield game, it was that 2nd half. I think we were the better team in 1st half and unlucky to finish it down 1.
2nd half, it was like we were amateur's, like someone stole their souls.
EV sure deserve hate on this game, if whole teams suddenly became bad you can't take blame from coach. But even with bad coaching, such team of veterans and talents should not allow that to happen.

They absolutely can, but neither can compete with states when they financially support clubs.

In that case, without sponsors on equal scale as PSG, Barca will keep losing future transfer battles.

Can't always just rely on Ligue 1 is for farmers, Barca's got Messi, the best beaches and weather.

Honestly, I'm starting to think that Real Madrid and Barca should go to war against UEFA simply to get Ceferin out.

If Ceferin's vision is to allow PSG and Man City spend money freely with a very soft FFP and not hold them accountable then he's going to destroy European football.

Great point.

I don't see how PSG offers a better sporting project for Messi if Mbappe chooses to leave. Messi, Neymar, Verratti and Marquinhos and a bunch of average players will not take them that far in Europe without some major additions and reinforcements.

So if he does choose PSG (which I doubt), money likely will be a major factor.

PSG without Messi are much closer to winning a CL than we are with Messi and they have much more spending power than us in the near future.

They will likely be without Mbappe soon, both Messi and Neymar will be getting older and less effective. Sure they have much more money, but I doubt there will be no new forms of FFP of some sort to keep them and everyone else in check.
