Lionel Messi - v7

In all honesty, I think as Barca fan we forgot what normal football looks like. You do not need a Messi to win, no one has a Messi.

You need a team that is dedicated and focused, players that make good decisions and follow instructions, and a solid manager and a leader of a captain. A classic 4-2-3-1 formation with a good finisher goes a long way

True, Chelsea and Man City being in the finals are example, there is no Messi there but they made it.

Puuuh, Cardioman, Pedri, dembele, pique, lenglet, barca suarez probably too are definitely not title win level.

Griezman and Pedri will do defensive work and so will Dembele .. today having Messi instead of Suarez means that Messi does not do defensive work and he also drop behind the box pressuring the other players to move inside the box and do more attacking work .. with Suarez that issue would be resolved as there is a clear striker

Suarez doesnt do defensive work either, its not 2015 anymore, this suarez is lazy if you watch atletico matches. Defense level wont change but we will be a lot weaker in attack.

LOL Messi or Ronaldo arent guarantees for winning CL's, especially in their older age. City and chelsea players are lot better than ours.

Chelsea striker (Werner) misses anyhow, even like Dembele, their wingers like Pulisic arent really super too. I think it's more of a disciplined and focused team play for Chelsea

You dont need world class players in all your positions to win something. anyways we've been used to having world class players and players we call Barca quality everywhere before

You need worldclass players or a good coach. If you dont have either you wont be successful (expect you have the luck of century (chelsea 2012)).

Remember guy Ronaldinho left us and in our second game in La Liga in that new season we clearly saw that the grass can be greener on the other side because of young Iniesta. Not saying this is the same .. but you never know what a good manager, good formation and a healthy Fati for example can do :)

What does that have to do with a 4231 formation? We cannot implement it for two reasons which I mentioned and non is our inability to score goals

Your main argument is that if we switch Messi with Suarez, then we could win the league.

The stats that I mentioned disproves this.

Chelsea have a worldclass coach. Werner may have a bad finishing but in other aspects he is levels above Dembele. The other players are a lot faster and having a coach with a clearly plan make them better. They would outplay us as they did against Real.

Suarez should not do defensive work. The point I am making is that having a clear striker that does not defend makes life easier for other players to defend and not do as much attacking, while having a free roaming player that does not defend force certain players to defend less because they need to compensate also for his lack of attacking (or being in the box to receive)

Of course a good coach and a healthy Fati would helped us a lot this season, would have been the key for title win probably. But your statment was that we would have won title with suarez instead of Messi and this is clearly wrong.

I am saying we can win the league mainly because we will be better organized and will actually defend better as per the argument with Fati_Future_BallonDor

Are we going to ignore how Messi screwed Barca by leaving for free?

Just saying.

Also, not talking is an unhealthy approach to deal with situations .. it is called lack of communication and it is well known to be huge contributor in ruining relationships. Messi needs to man up, introvert or not it doesnt matter. There are many introverts out there that are inspiring leaders.

I honestly have little respect for this little man. As for what he bring to Barca and what he brought to Barca; thank you Messi but I believe you have been payed more than fairly for that type of contribution you brought to the team

He did the right thing last year by leaving. It's his right. He's not your property. Plus he's not responsable of the mess here.

What about the 100 millions? He wanted to go so he didn't want your Bar?a money anymore. So what are you saying? He should be playing for free?
Why do you want him to stay if his salary annoys the hell out of you?

Lack of communication? he gave two anticipated interviews, one very hyped in December where he appeased things, yet saying if he had to send the burofax he will do it again. And that he wait for the season to end to decide.

I have respect for the man but I guess you all would have done better by far of course. And no way you would have cash all this money offers to you.

If we had Suarez while Messi left, the formation would have been much better with Griezman playing as a support behind Suarez. I say we definitely could have won the league

Yes i agree without Messi who created nothing this season, Suarez+Griez is a much better creative duo who would have won us the league & the CL for sure.

The only doubt i have is about the UEFA super cup.
