Lionel Messi - v7

Messi: "Watching football? I watch it, I watch it a lot. I like to look at different leagues. Follow it, be aware of it. I like it, yeah."

Messi: "Technology? Like everyone, I spend a lot of time on my smartphone. Often you're messing around on the phone doing nothing, really. You don't even realize it, and one thing leads to another. But it is what it is today."

 no one sadder/more pathetic than you in this forum mate :crbust:

Nah, that'd be the lad who got banned 3 times in 2 months for pulling the same stunt and is the consensus resident clown of this forum.

Who knows, maybe that fourth one will throw some sense into you.

no one can replace me, but i am glad others are beginning to see the truth.

anyway, strong commitment to the team by our 'captain' to leave before the season ends. only so he can fail with argentina once more.

Man, did he stole your wife or what? This level of hatred that you have towards Messi is unhealthy, not even Ronaldo fans that were with him since United days are hating him so much. Until now, only you and kattanib are seeing the ''truth''.

well, if you recall the multiple CL and liga humiliations weve suffered in the last 5 years, you can see too. or our lack of serious CL challenges. etc etc

That blame you put it on Messi? Not on other players who choked harder? Or on Bartomeu? Or on the mediocre coaches we had? Which is on Bartomeu too.

The blame is not Messi's alone, certainly, but what good is having the 'GOAT' for if it keeps on happening over and over and over? I have seen him walk around, defeated, too many times when it mattered both for Barca and Argentina to be convinced that he is 'the best'. Babe Ruth/Phelps/Jordan always delivered when it mattered. Messi today can't secure a win for Barca at home against Granada/Levante, nevermind Atleti/Real. You know that old saying: fool me once, shame on you...fool me 6 years+...well...

So do you genuinely think Anfield was Messi's fault only?
You're seriously saying in a team game that he's the sole reason we've been shit in the Cl for the last 5 years? No player in the history of football has a single player carried a team regardless of what legends and popular narratives might lead you to believe...
Does he carry some of the blame for the situation at Barcelona? yes; so does every other player and the people most at fault the are the Rosell administration.

They're the main reason that:
  • The dressing room has lost it's hunger
  • Extreme rise in player power
  • Player Ego/Delusion
  • Unhealthy and ridiculous salaries
  • Long term contracts for past it players
  • severely over paying and spending Millions on players who aren't good enough
  • 430m+ on Coutinho, Dembele, Griezman... similar to the one above but had to be mentioned again
  • Extremely unhealthy Levels of debt
  • Deterioration of La Masias quality and loss of young talents
  • Multiple appointments of mediocre or substandard coaches
etc etc

So i dont get how you are overly harsh on Messi while being very lenient on the other players etc
then i wont even go into the double standard regarding Ronaldo...

Phelps participates in an individual sport. Jordan played basketball and there are hundreds of examples of one player turning a decent team into a contender. That has to do with the nature of that sport and how it is refereed. Ruth played in the 1920s so not going to bother with him.

There is no WC footballer that has not been defeated in big games or failed to deliver when it mattered.

This lad legit citing Babe Ruth who played in the 1920s   And in a segregated sport. Utter clown show.

Your agenda and double standards are crystal clear. Virtually everyone on this forum sees right through it by now which is why very few even attempt to entertain a serious response to your baiting.

true, but there is also no WC, goat-tier contender who has been at the receiving end of so many humiliations/failed finals (w argentina) than messi. not one

he is also the most uninspiring, soulless captain weve had in yeeeeeeeeeeeears

My only issue with Messi is that his existence nowadays hinders transforming the team because any manager will need to create a formation that accommodates for Messi to be the center of attention. Also he does not seem to be the type of player that a manager can give instructions to and expect him to follow.. nor is he the type of player that you can use a stick with .. only carrots and lots of carrots.

Will we be better off if Messi leaves? Yes from the point of view of facing the inevitable and accelerating truly building the next generation Barca instead of another 3 years of BS before we can actually reshape the team
