Mangala - 45m
Otamendi 45m
Stones - 55m
Joao cancelo - 65m
Ruben dias 68m
Nathan ake 45m
Laporte - 65m
Mendy 58m
Walker 53m
Ederson 40m
Danilo 30m
Bravo 20m
Well its embarassing to spend almost 600m on defenders and not having at least the best defense at some point in last 6 years.
City should have a maldini nesta like cb partnership by now

No it’s not embarrassing.

Since Mansour?s takeover, City have won 13 league titles or cups.

City were finalist in CL last season.

City, won EPL in 2011-12, 2013-14, 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2020-21. Harder than winning CL

All are great players. Dias and Stones great partnership. Laporte, Ake, Walker, Cancelo, Zincenko for under 2m, Ederson, are all present team. Winning EPL and finalist for CL, that?s something to celebrate.

Purchases that did not work Mangala at 45m.
Mendy worked til injury, Bravo loss of form.

All purchases contribute to football community. Clubs sell higher prices to City.
But the money stays in football.

All these purchases with no debt to City.

The owner’s helped cover the costs for 6000 fans flying out to watch the Champions League Final.

City’s owners have made substantial investments into the city of Manchester in terms of houses and infrastructure to help local people.

I think Messi - the greatest player at present in football- is outside their financial restraints.

My apologies if I have said too much about City on the Messi thread.

Absolute nonsense, winning league titles isn't harder than winning CLs.

Only because of the luck factor or having a bad day factor in the knockouts. City are a better team than Chelsea because they finished well ahead in the league which proves who is the best against a large bunch of teams. Chelsea might have the ability to frustrate and beat City lately but Chelsea struggle against more teams than city and that's why they're not as good. Who knows if pep didn't overthink again last Saturday they might have had that trophy as well

City are a better team over 38 games, but over 38 games you are afforded to make mistakes, in a knock-out format its a different ball-game.
If you aren't sharp, if you dont have the moments of "luck", you are out.

CL is historically the most difficult tournament to win, and it will remain that way.

No one really rates a PL-title over a CL, lets be honest.

I think most do. Especially now since the best teams are in the premier league. As you say it is harder because of luck which means sometimes you are not the best in Europe like real in 2016 and 2018. I guarantee you most if not all managers would rather have 4 premier leagues and 1 champions league than the other way round

PL-titles over CL-titles?

No they would not, simple as that, end of story.

Its clear that not always the best team wins the cl but does the best team always wins PL title? If Liverpool beats city at home and away (cleary) but city wins Premier league you could say the same argument like you did.

And you know this how? I've heard managers say they would. It's always nice to win at least one champions league for your club but I guarantee you pep would not be happy with one league title and a load of cup wins. Well he would be happy but he would be happier the other way round. End of story

Yes but its over a longer period through different conditions and playing different styles. The champions league can be lost in 5 crazy minutes even if you're clearly the best team

Well guess what, City wasn't even the best team in the final overall.

You will find coaches who likes cl more and others who wants more CL's. For example i dont think Real would exchange their cls for la liga titles. Well winning EPL title is more difficult but as i said you will probably find differenct opinions from coaches.

CL is more valuable than any league title in any era. I know the level of CL is not very impressive these days but for most of the 00s and 2010s you had to beat at least one truly great team to win the CL.

Well you can also looses EPL matches when you were clearly better and this matches could deciding the title in the end. For example when we lost against granada or draw vs cadiz. The team who has the the least 'unlucky' losses wins the title.
