Ballon D'Or is for the calendar year

Clown take as always. Doing anything to discredit Messi.

Thats why titles of a season are important for it and the decision who has won is basically made in the middle of the year? L

''Clown'' - get triggered easily and cant stop insulting ;) Yeah i discredited Messi, thats why i said he is favourite to win if he wins copa :lol: Relax, Messi will stay ;)

You're the one using goal and assist numbers from the last half of the 2020 calendar year...which has no bearing on the 2021 Ballon D'Or.

in fact, in that post your entire "argument" was G+A tally. No mention of titles whatsoever.

Lastly, it's curious how you always remember the details when it comes to a certain armband kicking Portuguese but miss these when it comes to Barcelona's greatest player ever (as a self-professed Barcelona fan)

If ballon dor counts for the whole year you would need to wait until the year before deciding who the winner is but this is not the case, it is largely already determined who will win after a season ;)

What details? LOL Says incoherent things to make me look bad, what a attitude  Anyways, start to accept the fact that Messi will stay here ;)

Messi won copa than anything is fine.
Messi failed copa, then out of multiple frustations he might opt to leave the game, at least for awhile.
That means no one get the right bet.
He neither leave the club nor stay with the club.
He just 'leave' football.

I dont have any means to to seriously determine messi's final contract, though. I'll just wait for a valid statement gets out.

lol. Messi will opt to leave the game if he fails copa? Come on...
Since when do players drop out because they missed out on prizes?

If Messi stays, at least I will have the satisfaction of handing you some big juicy Ls when the season ends up an even much bigger disaster than the last two.

It's tricky, dawg. I don't see any team that Messi could go and they'd be the clear CL favorites. Like heavy favorites as Barca or RM or Bayern in some years.

If this was 2018 and he still had a season like 18-19 left in him, then it'd be a no-brainer and I would say he would definitely bring the CL to City or PSG. But in 2022? Eh. He has a lot to lose if he switches teams but doesn't win the CL IMO. Just look at CR7. A lot of people thought he was a CL solo god after the RM 3 peat, but now we see he can't do shit in a non-stacked Juve squad, especially as he ages. Ofc, City or PSG > Juve and Messi > CR7 but I don't think the gap is enough to win a CL.

Best for him is to snatch that Copa and 7th and everything else legacy wise is a bonus from there.

There is never a guarantee of a cl man. Even in Pep's day and MSN we lost out as often as we won. What would happen for sure though is Messi would kill in in the prem. I have no doubt of this. We just have to look at the huge delta between messi and every other player around him, even today. If guys like Grealish and sterling are considered special talents, why should we be nervous abt messi doing well? Maybe not 40 goals but certainly in the high 20s. I'd bet my house on it. And the 180 by the english media from skepticism to worship will be glorious to see. That is why me(and the other Messi out posters) want to see him move so badly.

If there is no annoucement today regarding Messi in anyway, it's getting weird.

IMO, the financial mess we are in is difficult to solve and we are not sure we can solve it.

Messi or the club can easily come out and say Messi want to stay but there is some problem with the FFP that waiting to be solves. Let the contract run out in silence is bad for publicity and whatever project Laporta talked about.

Silence mean uncertainty.

There is nothing weird really. Big money contracts negotiations are never easy and short. There is also no bad publicity because whole world knows they are negotiating a new contract and there are no rumours linking Messi to another club. It's obvious at this point he'll stay, they just need to reach and agreement that will please both sites.

It won't be the same if in his CV there will be a note he was a free agent for a few days in July 2021 after being tied to the club for 20 years but I don't believe he'll be a one-club man anyway as he'll probably go play for a few seasons to the MLS (to reunite with his amigo Suarez) and maybe finish his career in Argentina.

And how long we have been hearing about those only "small details" on his contract that left to be settled?

You think we are not putting this as top priority?
Silence today, imo, mean those details are not small at all.

BTW, investor, commercial etc could not care less about those news coming from even reliable journalists.

They only care about contract. Only 1 or 2 days will for sure effect whatever investor or commercial deal we are negotiating in the background.

It's not about CV. It's about business.

Its done!

Stunning

(🌕) Messi?s contract being expired tonight doesn?t worry Joan Laporta?s board a lot - both, the club & player have ALREADY agreed to a renewal & negotiations are well advanced. It is taking time due to the complexity [& details] of the contract. @CatalunyaRadio #Transfers 🇦🇷✍️
