Lionel Messi - v7

PSG is back on the offensive for Lionel Messi! An offer was sent by the Parisian leaders. Jorge Messi (his father) remains in contact with PSG. (Andres Onrubia)

Imagine PSG wins a CL next season...with Messi and Ramos as the driving forces.

If Messi doesnt reduce his wages from 75M to 10-15M/year we can't renew him. Simple as that. And If Messi doesnt renew we sill have to reduce 150M of the wage bill. And if we cant do it, Memphis, Aguero, Emerson and Eric cant play for us.
We're fucked either way.

at this point as it looks like this cat isn't taking any pay cut at all a deal sounds catastrophic for both parties, financially for us and in terms of SpOrTiNg pRoJeCt for Messi.

I am sure a solution will be found. I don t think Messi wants to move at his age now. That ship has sailed.

Maybe or maybe not. Noticed how the date of contract completion from reliable journalists keep getting pushed back. Which the latest one saying this week. Does not seem to happen.

Laporta reported meeting with Tebas today but then canceled?

How can we achieve reducing our wage bill by 40% even without considering Messi contract?

Seem like right now Laporta hope is to convince Tebas to change some rules.

And for people saying that Tebas would not want to lose Messi.

He has stated FFP rule and his stance clearly in the interview. If he want to help us, he would have done that weeks ago, QUIETLY.

They don't need to lower their salary for Messi, they should do it to help the club they supposedly love.

Or they can f*** off.

"Several Bar?a heavyweights will not reduce their salary for Messi to renew his contract according to their lawyers. They say: "What is signed, is signed". Sergi Roberto and Busquets haven't received a call from Laporta to negotiate their renewals"

According to Victor Navarro of Cadena Cope.

Love the spin.

But it is true though, Messi is the one who has to lower his asking price if he wants to sign for us. Not the contracted players who in some cases are earning 1/10 of what Messi is rumoured to sign and 1/15 of what he was previously contracted too. Mad balls.

Lowering the wages of the squad, and signing Messi new contract are and should be treated as two separate issues.

Neymar would be very very happy. The moron is the one crying out for a reunion with his amigo...

I like Messi but i say hard pass due to his too high salary considering we have a lot of gaps to fill.

I don't buy it though, PSG sources don't talk about Messi at all now. Prolly Messi camp trying to scare off Bar?a to speed things up. Every day without a contract is a lot of money lost for him.

Wait, why are you acting as if you are some normal club?
PSG is a state-run entity, the can afford whatever wages they want, basically.

It'd be pretty shameless from Laporta and Messi if other players are being asked to take paycuts to afford Messi getting 300m for two seasons.
