Lionel Messi - v7

I'm sad because recognizing Messi's at the last stage of his career I was planning on traveling to Barcelona this winter or spring next year and watch a game.

Might still go, but won't be the same.

I literally moved to Malaga from the US last summer and have been stuck here due to the pandemic and them not letting fans in.

I very much am personally gutted by this. Literally just watched a dream of mine die in like two hours via Twitter. Whata time.

Is this a long term ban we are talking about... like the next 50 years (couldn't stop myself)... I mean, he can change hahah...

Long-term, but we'll bring him back for comedic value from time to time and ban him again after a few hours.

Barca will meet Messi?s new team in the CL group stages or first knockout round. Too good of an opportunity to waste, I trust the heated balls to do their job

Messi scoring the goal that sends us to 3rd place and the Europa League

I am not even sad at this point. Messi's Barca is over anyway. This is just a midtable team that happened to have the best player in the world at it's ranks.
Messi's career is almost over at top level and he might as well try something different, just for a change. Barca have a really long way to go if we want to be on top again. This squad is massively overpaid and overrated. Hoping to seeing youngsters play even if that gets us below 4th place. I cannot bear to watch any more entitled divas wearing this jersey.

From what Laporta said this morning, the club prepared two deals for renewing Messi, both of which were accepted by Messi and both of which were rejected by La Liga.

MD reported that they met with Jorge Messi yesterday to inform him they couldn't find a way to register him and Jorge Messi cut the meeting short upon learning the news.

If true, that is depressing for Messi... after such a great summer for him, to end things like that...

Just to imagine relieved Messi from the international pressure and great vacation back to the game he loves... he would have killed it this season...

In the same time I think exactly he will understand the situation and hopefully will give a speech before the Gamper game... he deserved so much more as a farewell...

A bit spoiled imo if he's not there. He just came off winning a copa america with Argentina. Life ain't all about ups. Tough it up and do it for the fans.

Don't think Messi would be mad at Laporta. His hands are tied.

Except Laporta ran his entire campaign of renewing messing and spent the entire summer telling the fans that things were progressing well. He even just said it last week.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Laporta used Messi as a pawn to tie up his campaign and deals with sponsorships heading into the new fiscal year when he knew all along that this was impossible.

Laporta has financial advisors lawyers and what not that told him they would be able to resolve the issue. Pretty sure Laporta at the time thought it would come through. Wasn't blatantly lying but yeah jumping a bit ahead of himself.
