Unlucky with the shot. I feel he gave all he could but we are on a really bad spell. Let's hope we can move forward.

Confidence seems to be an issue.

Usually he chips the goalkeepers when he gets into those positions.

He used to chip the goalkeeper a LOT more when he was younger, but after 2014 or so he has almost stopped it.Strange.

he used to do so many other things, for example it's kinda annoying that most of his shots these days are totally powerless, I mean I understand dude has likely the best accuracy in the game but sometimes it's like he pass the ball to the goalkeeper.

Yeah, but he scored many goals with powerful strikes just last season.I don’t know if injury, age caught up with him or it is mental block, but shooting isn’t necessarily an ability that declines with age, especially so rapidly.

I think he’ll become more clinical in the near future and as long as we keep creating a decent amount of chances under Setien,he can start scoring a lot again.

On the other hand,he has almost stopped chipping the goalkeeper the last 5-6 years,as I said earlier.I think that earlier in his career he was extremely fast and he used to get many throughballs by Xavi,Iniesta etc which resulted in wide open 1-on-1 with the GK.

These days this type of chances are really rare. But even when the opportunity arises,he doesn’t try to chip the GK..

That could be a confidence issue? That type of skill isnt something that declines with age, moreso confidence to pull it off i guess.

He's historically been poor around January-February, I think he'll pick it back up. He was killing it before the winter break, just needs to get into shape and over any nagging injuries.

Also needs to put in some effort in training to build a real understanding with Griezmann. If they can't work together when we need them to in big games, we will fail

To be honest, Messi's departure would be win-win for both parties. Barça will surely suffer a lot without him for a while but the club can now finally start to prepare the life after Messi though it's already too late compared to how RM has been doing without CR. And Messi will be able to have a new motivation and possibly more trophies in a better environment/more competitive team. As a football fan, I can enjoy watching him wherever he goes.

its not a win for Barca and suffer alot is an understatement. i don't like the current situation and i hate to think of a player being bigger than the actual club but remember if Messi is to leave, say, at the end of this season, we still have another year of this clown of a board. they managed to waste a combined 300mil+ on 3 flops.. imagine tasking them with starting a rebuild for life after Messi

Ronaldo to Madrid wasn't as influential as Messi is to Barca and plus they have Uncle Flo, a president who actually knows what hes doing

idk the way forward honestly but Messi leaving would be a catastrophe
