Lionel Messi - v7

He will end up with a sad legacy if he stays here. The problem is the cult of Messi has become bigger than the club. Look at how ruthless Real were in getting rid of Ronaldo. Does anyone see us winning the league in the next three seasons? I don't. And the cl is out of the question. So he slowly declines and maybe as a send off we win a Copa if we are lucky.
He deserves better and should seriously think about moving to City or even Inter.

Lets hope he leaves in summer 21 and so does most of the gang, similar to post Rijkaard era

Messi is 33, i doubt he wants to play for another club and move with his family at this point. He'll probably just continue for like 2 seasons or so anyway, better enjoy it while he's still here.

It's more about adjusting, the club, the team and himself will have to accept that he can't keep doing everything by himself. And getting rid of most of the other veterans, team can maybe cover for one physically weak player but not 3-4+, we've seen enough of that already and it'll just get worse.

why does he deserve better? hes a huge part of the problem here with his club de amigos. people keep saying we surround him with shit players but the worst culprit of these players is Suarez and hes only playing because hes Messi's bff. he doesn't respect the manager, he walks around most of the match and he has no positional sense which destroys the team shape.

There have been reports that he will resign for 2 more years after that with the option to quit after each season.

I don't get it, he's by far the best player that i've seen in my 30 years of watching football, why not enjoy him for a few more years while you can after that mediocrity awaits this club again.

Once he leaves bar?a the club will probably loose a lot of its standing and commercial appeal.

These are my sentiments as well tbh. Some people don't realise how lucky we have been to have him all these years

Honestly, Messi is the only reason Barca have been competitive the last few years. With almost every single recent signing being a massive flop, it's difficult to see us building a good team post Messi. Hopefully the next board understands how to build a team and not spend 100m+ on trash

What's there to enjoy? A terrible, slow team of pensioners and Messi can't even score anymore from open play.

The club is fucked either way.

He has given so much to the club that he has earned the right to ruin few years of potential good team building

He looks completely fed up with the goings on at the club. Knows the club is nowhere near where it should be with all the money that as been invested. Bad decisions at board level, weak managers and aging players have left him feeling its up to him every game to get the Club out of trouble.

Even the Great Messi can't keep with that level of demand. Barca need Pep back and bring youth with him.

Messi has played his part.

He supported EV and the clubs approach to slower football with older core.

Even now he and those older core will protect their positions.

The board is terrified of him and weak but dont kid yourself that this situation is 'poor Messi' who hasnt played a hand in it.

I agree, he has played his part along with the older players such as Pique and Busquets but this is my point on getting a manager such as a Klopp/Pep who are the leaders and will control the egos or ship them out. For too long Barca have had these B/C class managers, the club deserves the top talent managers and to be honest they are the only ones that can stand up to the ego of the players mentioned.

Tough love needed on the team, only a strong manager perform that on players with such illustrious careers.

My choice is Pep, do everything possible to get him back.
