I also dislike seeing him dropping deep too much but our midfield is substandard so I can see why.

Was calling for Messi to leave this fiilthy dump for years now, he is literally the only reason this club is still running, I don't even understand why he's still here, makes 0 sense, you already paid off your growth hormones and your legacy is big enough of a thank you for this club, time to fucking go, he needs to stop wasting once a lifetime talent.

Maybe he is happy and loves the club, despite recent woes and inadequate board?

Really need a coach telling Messi that he should not drop to midfield too often and share his freedom.

If not our midfield will not advance

Current Lio is a tactical liability, there's nothing wrong with accepting it, 4-3-3 is suboptimal not only for him but also the team because we dont have the tools for it.

I agree that he should reduce his influence zone to focus more on finishing (that way he could extend his career a little longer), but you just can't ask him to stop dropping deep when you have a midfield that keeps getting worse and worse in terms of creativity every year, he created more chances last year than the WHOLE midfield.

Obviously Messi has goat playmaking abilities but you can not ask other midfielders be creative like Messi when he always roams freely on midfield. The whole team play through Messi and just wonder it is coach tactic or Messi tactic.

Not even mention that with Messi out of his RW position, drop to midfield, other midfielders get less option to pass forward. He should stick more forward.

If no one else makes the run, Kevin would find Own Goal. That dude never fails to kick butt :D

He will end up with a sad legacy if he stays here. The problem is the cult of Messi has become bigger than the club. Look at how ruthless Real were in getting rid of Ronaldo. Does anyone see us winning the league in the next three seasons? I don't. And the cl is out of the question. So he slowly declines and maybe as a send off we win a Copa if we are lucky.
He deserves better and should seriously think about moving to City or even Inter.
